“It does more than it says on the tin”

Cant recommend this rental enough- the location, the lay out, the extra attention to detail, the homely make up - made this such a perfect stay for us- we will be back

“They thought of everything!”

Reviewed 28 Nov 2015

We travelled over to Newcastle from Glasgow to meet up with family and friends and wanted a base near the sea. Seahaven could not be a better choice! The se4a view is beautiful. You can literally walk a few steps to the promenade and breach. Anne and Phil have thought of everything. The rooms were wonderfully furnished and tastefully decorated and our arrival snacks were well appreciated! The beds were wonderfully comfortable; the accommodation as a whole was fresh, modern, clean, comfortable and a joy to be in! We would highly recommend a stay here. Newcastle is a place I spent a lot of time when I was a child, and I feel in the world, it is a little known haven. 1 Seahaven is the ideal place to discover this beautiful area where the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the Sea. also, they allowed us to bring our dog, Cody, - a brilliant thing - as we find it difficult to find dog friendly spots. If you are a hill walker, a cyclist, a national parks walker, a beach lover, wanting to discover the amazing county down coast and the Mournes by car, or just wanting a quiet place to stay by the sea, Seahaven is ideal. Anne and Phil couldn't have been more helpful and Anne, like me, grew up near by so has a great knowledge of the area. If you want a brilliant apartment to stay in Northern Ireland - look no further! (and check out Mauds!)

“Excellent accommodation superbly presented.”

From Anne's welcome throughout our week at Sea Haven we felt completely at home. The views are great, the location close to shops. restaurants and Churches meant we could leave the car and walk unless we wanted to go further afield. The house had everything we wanted, including an umbrella which might well be needed on occasion. The most comfortable and well presented self catering accommodation that we have ever stayed in. Anne's welcoming basket was mouthwatering and much appreciated. It was lovely to just sit and listen to the waves on the shore and relax each day. We hope to stay there again one day if opportunity offers. As for being suitable for those with disabilities we think that wheel chair users might find the doorways a little difficult, although the shower room would be ideal. Thank you, Anne and Phil.

“Apartment of a very high standard with everything you could possibly need”

Ground floor apartment, tastefully decorated with light coloured furnishings and very comfortable chairs and beds. Every room was clean and the bathroom was very spacious and modern with walk-in shower. Kitchen was very well-equipped. Lounge had a full length window opening out onto a small patio complete with table and two chairs. Everything in the apartment was in excellent condition. Anne gave us a lovely warm welcome - there was milk in the fridge and scones, butter and jam waiting for us. The location is excellent, - quiet and looking out to the promenade yet within walking distance of the town centre. We were staying for the weekend in Newcastle to attend a family wedding - our only regret was not being able to stay for longer.

“What a lovely apartment!”

My sister and I spent 3 days in 1 Sea Haven. It could be Sea Heaven- it is easily the best apartment we have stayed in and deserves 5 stars. It was an excellent base for all that the Mournes have to offer.

“Perfect spot for a break by the seaside.”

Can't fault my stay at 1 Sea Haven at all. Anne was extremely helpful and had thought of every little detail to make the apartment feel warm and welcoming. Every room is beautifully decorated with quality modern furniture abs art as well as there being immaculate attention to detail. The location is a stone's throw from the promenade and only a few minutes wall from the bus station. Would love to stay again sometime and will definitely be recommending to anyone looking for a break by the seaside.

“A hidden gem”

Reviewed 19 Apr 2015

We enjoyed a lovely stay in this 5 star gem. The apartment was well equipped and ideally situated close to amenities and restaurants. Newcastle beach and the world famous royal county down golf course were a 2 minute walk. The mountains and surrounding countryside are a walkers dream. The exceptional good irish weather and irish coffees made the holiday. A few days at 1 sea haven and the batteries were totally recharged. Plan to return soon as an easy commute from London.
