From the owner

Ty Adeiladwr Cwch (the Boat Builder's house) is a perfect blend of a traditional 200 year old Welsh cottage with a contemporary spacious extension. It is located in Llanddona, a quiet village with traditional local pub on the headland of Red Wharf Bay only a few miles from the picture-postcard coastal town of Beaumaris. The vast sandy LLanddona beach is only 10 minutes drive away (or 20 mins walk down a steep hill) and is great for sandcastle building, as well as for walks and watersports.

The house has ample gardens to the front, rear and side, giving plenty of scope for hide and seek, or to enjoy a relaxing drink on the front lawn admiring the view. There are stunning views of the Snowdonia mountain range, from the front lawn and windows, beautifully captured through the French windows of the upstairs lounge and master bedroom, as well as from the roof terrace. Downstairs in the old cottage is the Lamp-room, a cosy lounge with wood-burning stove to curl up with a book or film, or if you are feeling like a bit more activity there is a games room with a pool table.

Layout is kitchen/dining room, lounge, games room, utility room, shower room, hall and porch downstairs. The spacious kitchen-dinner has a range-style cooker, fridge and dishwasher with patio doors onto the front garden. Extra fridge, 2 washers, dryer and freezer in utility room. Family bedroom (double plus bunk beds), double bedroom, twin bedroom, double bedroom with en suite, family bathroom and additional lounge (with double sofabed) upstairs. For additional flexibility there is a single fold-down bed and a travel cot (cot bedding not provided). Upstairs lounge and master bedroom have vaulted ceilings and French windows. Large decked roof terrace is accessed from upstairs lounge. The large porch at the entrance has full size glass windows on two sides and doubles as a garden room to relax with your morning coffee. There are two dining tables - one in the dining/kitchen that seats twelve and another in smaller table in the large hall.

Please note that besides the ample gardens surrounding the cottage, there a large plot of additional garden land. (It is seperated from the side-garden by a row of mature trees.) It does house a caravan but this is not let commercially and only used as an overspill when the owners are staying at the cottage. So feel free to use this extra garden space. There is also a climbing frame with slide in the side garden.

There is plenty of room to park at least four cars - additional parking may be available on request. CCTV overlooking drive.

We haven't had any problems with the track leading to the house either before or afterwards (the previous review mentions the drive not the track), though we have reported your issue to the land owner. Just for other's perspective however, my son has no problem getting down it in his small Toyota Yaris and my own car is not 4-wheel drive. We do usually do a welcome pack but the cleaner's have stopped doing this as want to handle as few of the guest's things as possible during the pandemic. We will resurrect this as safe to do so. For other guests - the house is down an unadopted private track with a drive in front of the house. The drive has an incline, though not unusually steep. How do damage deposits work?

If Sally (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
