Description from owner
Spacious cottage beautifully presented set in the grounds of an Oast House with access to outdoor swimming pool (in the owners' garden and with their permission) in the Summer months. Ideal base for visiting London which is only 40 minutes by train from Tonbridge station which is 20 minutes by car.
Less than an hour's drive from the Channel Tunnel and ports. Our European guests find Lamberhurst a great location for visiting London,
the Kentish countryside and the spa town of Tunbridge Wells. Scotney Castle, Bewl Water, Bedgebury Pinetum are all within minutes drive.
Seaside resorts and beaches less than an hour's drive away.
Suitable for wheelchair access as on one level and shower room with larger door - note this isn't a wet room so the wheelchair cannot go into the shower. Two further en suite bathrooms.
Excellent choice of restaurants and pubs in the nearby village of Lamberhurst (5 minutes drive away).
Pets allowed by arrangement. Please advise when booking.
Private parking for 2 vehicles. Additional vehicles can be accommodated on site by arrangement.
South of Lamberhurst and one third of a mile further south from the sign for Bewl Water. Signposted CHINGLEY WOOD OASTS and THE COACH HOUSE and turn right off the A21. the Coach House is in the grounds of Chingley Wood Oasts. If you get to the sign for Kilndown you have gone half a mile too far south.

“Great property - poor communication”
lovely property. great location. perfect for our weekend. unfortunately the dvd/tv volume wasn't working properly which took a while to rectify (including the owner giving the repair man my personal mobile so I could organise it! ). found the communication on this poor & disappointing. Due to the fact that clearly this hadn't been checked before and previous guests had already commented on it in the visitors book, it meant we began to be picky about the rest of the property. Oven not working properly, showers with luke warm water, no can opener.... Would definitely help if the owners had checked everything was working before our arrival.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your response. We did everything we could at 8 pm On a Friday evening re the doubt on the DVD player. The sound was working on the evening but not on the dvd . I loaned my laptop so the dvds could be played via there to the tv with sound. I had organised the repairman to come in. The only reason I gave my guest’s mobile was to ensure that it was convenient for him to go in and to organise a tune and fir her to give permission . At no point was I asking my guest to organise it as her review alleges. I will check the shower temperatures and the oven and make sure that there is a can opener. As we live 50 metres from The Coach House has any of these 3 things been mentioned st the time we would have happily investigated the issues. I will check with my next guests re water temperature and oven temperature. Maria

“Good location for many SE areas of interest”
My wife, daughter and myself stayed at this rental for just over a week. Its was a good location for anyone with a car, being a reasonable distance from many major destinations in the South East. It has been custom refurbished to provide the best accommodation possible within the allotted space and the 3 bedrooms each come with their own (somewhat small in 2 cases) bathrooms. The kitchen and living areas are a good size and are very well equipped. Parking is easy, there are laundry facilities (and cleaning equipment too if one has a mind). The owners are very friendly and helpful - but invisible otherwise, heating is nicely provided by a number of different mediums, as desired, and as the property is quite shaded, it didn't get too warm inside either. There can be some road noise - but we didn't really notice it much after the first day/night - obviously it is only really a factor when everything is very quiet.
Owner's reply: Thanks for your review. As you say even though The Coach House is close to the road the property is double glazed and noise would only be an issue if our guests want a peaceful countryside retreat. Most of our guests use us as a base.
“Delightful cottage in central location”
We found the cottage easily from our driving instructions and were immediately delighted. Although right next to a busy road, the cottage is well below the road and separated by trees that give a country getaway feel. Everything was clean and well presented and a folder provides instructions for appliances etc. We particularly loved the fact that it is all one one level, so there was no dragging of cases up and down stairs. Close to lots of historical sites, minutes from some lovely pubs and an hour and a half from Gatwick!

I know that feeling about lugging suitcase with a car park miles from the accommodation and up 3 flights of stairs without a lift. Where is the oxygen mask and Sherpa you ask yourself! Oh and why did I really need to pack 10 pairs of shoes.
“Fab location and very nice house to stay in.”
The Coach House is a lovely house for a group or family. It is spacious and well laid out with everything you need for a short weekend or longer stay. Excellent location to visit Tunbridge Wells, Lamberhurst, Bewl and Scotney Castle all of which we did in the 3 days we were there.

Immaculately clean and very comfortable. Gracious laid back hosts who didn't mind our two dogs at all! Very nice all round.

“Wonderful family accommodation with exceptional hosts”
A well equipped cottage with all we needed to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable stay. When we asked to extend, Maria & Robin, searched for an alternative for the three nights that had been previously booked and offered them to us. Ever tentative and welcoming, Maria, Robin, Isabella, and Oscar made us all welcome and we enjoyed sitting in the sunshine near the pool. Highly recommend - the proximity to the A21 is NOT a problem with the sounds buffered by double glazing and the tree line.

“Lovely cottage in wonderful location”
We had a wonderful time staying at the Coach House - its a really beautiful part of the country and there are some excellent pubs around too (the Vineyard became a firm favourite!) The cottage was really spacious and very comfortable - the rooms are all big and every bedroom has a bathroom (and plenty of hot water!) which was wonderful! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love like to thank Maria for making us feel so at home. We will be back!

“Homely Cottage with Kind and Caring Hosts”
Fantastic en-suit amenities, with everything to hand. Very comfortable stay, pleasant and plentiful rooms. Very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent value and great location with fantastic local restaurants and pubs. Stayed December 2012.
