Sleepy Bear Cottage is set in a private position with beautiful country views.


This is quite simply a unique property. Designed to accommodate families who are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind.


Sleepy Bear Cottage is peaceful, secluded and romantic. Sleepy Bear Cottage is less than 10 minutes drive from the charming town of Oban where there are plenty of things to see and do. Oban is well known for being the seafood capital of Scotland meaning that there a lots of places to eat and drink.

Please note that the cottage has just recently undergone a full renovation and refurbishment. The property has an enclosed garden that still requires a little TLC which we hope to have completed during the summer months and better weather.

The nearest train station is located in Oban which is less than 5 miles to Sleepy Bear Cottage. There is a bus stop which is less than a minutes walk and there are also various taxi companies based in Oban.

We like to leave guests to enjoy the peace and quiet that the cottage has to offer and only tend to be around if we need to be. We are always at the other end of the phone if there are any questions.

“Sleep Bear experience”

This modern cottage was ideal for a week away near Oban. It is in a peaceful location with stunning views and is a perfect base for all the local attractions. Matthew provided great arrival instructions and we felt at home the minute we arrived. The necessary stuff is there from hairdryer, ironing board and iron, tea, coffee and sugar. All the kitchen equipment you need and of course the all important bath robes for the brilliant hot tub. The free wi-fi and satellite TV were of great help with the kids as well as the selection of DVD's... not used very often thanks to the brill weather. All the rooms were clean and comfortable and hot water was available on demand. The garden was brill for playing in with the kids. We loved our time here and will hopefully be back.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It is a shame that you did not mention any of these issues to us at the time, in order to allow us to rectify them, especially as your stay was for much more than just a couple of nights, it would have been easy for us to change the light bulbs etc very quickly. These tend to pop frequently over the winter, due to the colder weather we have in Scotland. The lounge windows were replaced shortly after your stay. Unfortunately we were unable to do this before then due to back to back bookings (all of which left 5 star reviews). It is good to hear that you felt that the cottage was comfortable and we are sorry to hear that you felt the property is not as luxurious as your own rental. We look forward to finding out for ourselves but we think that we must be doing something right as almost 100% of our other reviews are 5 star.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Matthew (the owner) a message.

If Matthew (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
