“Lovely, well equipped cottage”

Ambrisbeg is sited in a lovely area of Bute. The cottage is very comfortable and really well equipped with everything needed. Cathy was very welcoming and helpful. A great place for a holiday stay.

Thanks for your lovely review.

“Ideale uitvalsbasis”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2016

Thanks for your review. Glad that you enjoyed your holiday in Bute. Cathy and Robert :)

“Great weather, happy days!”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2015

Having visited this cottage on two previous occasions, we were entirely confident of an enjoyable holiday in every respect and as previously, we were not disappointed. We just love the place.

Lovely to see you again and thanks for the great review :)

“Superbly tranquil.”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2015

A lovely little cottage in the middle of nowhere. Great for getting away from the city life. Ideal for those with limited mobility. Peaceful, tranquil and utterly beautiful. Cathy was very pleasant and very easy to approach if you had any issues. Will hopefully be booking again quite soon..

So glad you had a lovely holiday.

“Ambrisbeg Cottage *****”

Reviewed 18 May 2015

A comfortable, cosy and relaxing retreat in the countryside. We stayed here 2 nights while completing the West Island Way. Our warm welcoming and helpful hosts offered us 3 bicycles, which we used to get to the starting points of our hikes - a great way to discover even more of this beautiful island. We absolutely recommend this place!

Thank you for your lovely review and we're so glad that you enjoyed exploring the island.

“Charming country cottage on the Isle of Bute”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2015

We stayed here for 5 days over New Years Eve. The cottage was immaculate - so clean & tidy - and it had everything we needed. The views on Bute are gorgeous. You are 10 minutes from the beach & local pub. Cathy & Rob were perfect hosts. There were fresh pancakes, eggs & homemade jam waiting for us on arrival! I would highly recommend this property to anybody looking for a peaceful break in Scotland.

“Fantastic cottage!”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2014

We stayed here for 3 nights, and it was absolutely fantastic. The most relaxing holiday we have had, even with 2 kids! We had a warm friendly greeting from Cathy herself. The location is fab, the cottage was the cleanest I have ever seen. Had lots of books and games and DVDs etc to keep the kids occupied at night. Was very warm and friendly. We will DEFINATLEY be back and would definatley reccomend it!

“Lovely cottage, beautiful scenery, relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 16 Oct 2014

We stayed at Ambrisbeg for a long weekend and enjoyed every moment. Cathy was very helpful and friendly on arrival, helping us with the heating and showing us how to get to the nearest beach. The cottage is large, well provisioned and very tastefully decorated. The island was a quiet haven, we spent a lot of time wandering the shores, spotting seals and searching the rock pools for crabs. Rothesay is a friendly town, where the castle is worth a visit. We highly recommend Ambrisbeg Cottage and would definitely return!

“Hard to imagine a more idyllic holiday setting”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2014

We have just spent two weeks (September 2014) at Ambrisbeg Cottage. We have lost count of our visits - must be 7 or 8 by now, and in all seasons. This surely bears testament to our sense of satisfaction with the property, its setting, and not least our hosts, Cathy and Robert, who are ever helpful and obliging.

“Peaceful, beautiful stay on Bute”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2013

Had a great stay at Ambrisbeg Cottage on Bute. Clean, comfortable, beautiful cottage in idyllic farmland setting. Walk down to Loch Quien and watch the birds from the bird hide, take in Scalpsie Bay, or just sit in the garden with a good book. We were lucky enough to have great weather but if not, the cottage has Sky tv, lots of good books to read, and is a very welcoming comfortable place to stay. Short, dusty track to cottage so wash the car after the holiday not before! Good value for money. Loved it!
