Description

This semi-detached, 18th century cottage has a peaceful hillside setting with stunning views over the South Tyne Valley and superb walks right from the doorstep. It is conveniently located just 1 mile from the village of Haydon Bridge.

Pagecroft Cottage combines the character of antique furniture and period features with all the modern comforts that one would expect for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Close to Langley Castle, Hadrian's Wall and only 10 minutes drive from the historic market town of Hexham, it is also within easy driving distance of Newcastle upon Tyne, Carlisle, Northumberland National Park, Kielder Water and Forest Park and the picturesque North Pennines and Allen Valley. A fantastic base to explore beautiful Northumberland.

“Warm and Welcoming”

Pagecroft cottage is a warm and welcoming home from home just north of Haydon Bridge on the south Tyne . The cottage has a lovely cosy ambience and is thoughtfully furnished with lovely attention to detail .It was very clean throughout and very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery,cookware and utensils and the background warmth from the lovely old Aga just made it a place you wanted to kick off those shoes,stretch out and relax in . A wee gem .

Immaculate property, great attention to detail. Nice little touches, making the property homely. The welcome pack of fresh milk, tea, coffee and biscuits was a pleasant surprise on arrival. Everything you could want or need in a property was there. Owners very helpful with suggestions of things to do locally. Great places to visit nearby and varied choice of places to eat. Loved it! Would highly recommend this property.

“Quiet period cottage”

Pagecroft Cottage was exceptionally clean, with a very well equipped large dining kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed having our meals there. Loved the window seats in the living room and kitchen with bird feeders just outside the kitchen window. Downstairs is quite dark but there were lovely views from the bedrooms. Great provision of toys and games for our three year old grandson. Only downside is lack of any garden, though there is a small seating area across the road with wonderful views.It is ideally situated for visiting the surrounding area, Haydon Bridge is a short distance away and Hadrian's Wall and the lovely Corbridge are nearby.

A nice period cottage with period furniture. It has an AGA and central heating which kept it really cosy. Friendly owners and family, who have a great Japanese style garden. Wonderful views down the Tyne Valley from the front door. Just what we needed for a wind down few days.

I initially chose this cottage based on reviews that spoke of its cleanliness and the great views shown in the photos. It turned out to be exactly what we expected and much more. Imogen has thought of everything to make it like home. Right from the divinely comfortable beds, duvets, the thoughtfully provided bottle of milk, jars of coffee, tea & sugar. One almost wishes for a rainy day, to get an opportunity to spend a day in and enjoy the cottage. My favourite part was spending the first half an hour of my day on the window seat gazing in quiet contemplation across the grand expanse of green. However a small comment for the elderly or people with mobility issues, I wouldn't suggest this cottage if you have a problem climbing stairs- they're very steep.

The cottage lived up to our expectations it was very comfortable, well equipped and the surrounding countryside was gorgeous. We would not hesitate to book this cottage again.

Property easy to book. Very helpful property manager who lives locally. New to the holiday let market. House newly renovated. Everything brand new. Beautiful kitchen. Our 4 1/2 year old managed the steep stairs without problems. Plenty of hot water. Heating good. Lots of space in the house. Stunning views across the valley from front facing windows. Very quiet location. Generous parking space provided off road next to the house. Lots of places to visit locally. Hadrian's Wall a short drive away. Easy access to Newcastle or Carlisle by train from Haydon Bridge railway station where there is easy parking with no charge. Be brave driving up the steep single lane access road although we met no oncoming vehicle throughout our 7 night stay. Supermarkets / petrol stations are not nearby so planning required. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - would highly recommend.

How do damage deposits work?
