“Spacious and comfortable so highly suitable for a family gathering”

Reviewed 15 Mar 2018

The house is lovely, spotlessly clean, spacious, warm, with well equipped kitchen, and pleasant garden Situated on quiet lane just off main square so ideal for all the amenities of Grassington. We have no hesitation in recommending Ellesmere.

“Stunning Cottage with stunning scenery !”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2017

This was our second visit to Ellesmere and once again it exceeded our expectations. The cottage is stunning and the recent renovations are truly superb. The facilities offered are of the highest standards, ensuring everyone in our large party had a great time. This cottage offers all the home comforts, away from home ! Faultless ! The location of the cottage is ideal for exploring everything that the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. Everything is literally on the doorstep, and the atmosphere in and around Grassington simply adds to the experience. The cottage and the location are stunning. We cant wait to return !

“Gorgeous views over the dales from beautiful windows”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2014

This house is an absolute gem. It was very easy to arrange the break directly via Paul, who was very polite. The location of the house, which is an village of Grassington, but also kind of a little bit out the way is perfect. The house is big and comfortable. From the bedrooms, we had fantastic views over the dales. The house a garden, which we used even though it was winter and it was fab, as our three young boys could venture out safely and build a snowman. We would be absolutely and definitely going back.

“Character cottage in lovely village”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2013

The cottage was full of character and in a perfect location in the popular village of Grassington. There is plenty to do in the area and fantastic walking. There are several choices of eating places. Of course with an old house there are some drawbacks such as noisy pipes. Also beware the narrow streets and be careful when parking. The cottage was generally well-equipped although more place settings would be useful (only 5 of us and we ran out at times). Cottage could have been a bit cleaner when we arrived. Booking went smoothly with payments on-line. It was a bit unclear how damage deposit would be returned.

“Lovely House in an ideal location”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2013

We stayed at Ellesmere with another family - 8 of us in total with children ranging from 11 to 14. The house is in an ideal location just a couple of minutes walk into Grassington Village which is a lovely place to stay. We arrived on the Saturday just as the snow had arrived the day before .... the journey was eventfull but we made it up there late pm just in time to sample the real ale in each of the 3 pubs before tea. We cooked at Ellesmere a couple of nights as the kitchen was so well equipped. We also ate out at The Devonshire Hotel on the Sunday evening - 2 x Steak meals and a bottle of wine for £25!! The snow didn't stop us and we managed a couple of nice circular walks - one to Burnsall (approx 6 miles) and one to Kilnsey (approx 7 miles) - Red Lion at Burnsall and Tennants Arms at Kilnsey both do lovely food. All in all a great stay and a place we will be returning to in the not so near future.

“Fantastically equipped cottage, great garden for dogs, and superb location.”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2012

We had stayed in Grassington before, and indeed in other cottages in the Dales. But this was without doubt the best. The cottage itself was superb; everything you could want, great space outside, & within walking distance of everywhere. It's nice to be able to wander into the village centre when you want and thus avoid the crowds! The large garden and access through the french windows made it very dog friendly. The owners, who we needed to contact, were very friendly, helpful and understanding. Brill. Only warning (& it is just that) is that the lane is very narrow and care with a large vehicle is needed.
