Description

**** Visit Wales 4 star rated Accomdation ****

Perfect location to explore beautiful Snowdonia and North Wales.

Segrwyd Mill is an 18th century grade II listed water mill, steeped in history and located in the heart of the North Wales countryside, between Nantglyn and Denbigh. It lies in a tranquil setting on the banks of the river Ystrad.

The mill has been worked by the Lloyd family for generations but stopped producing flour in 1959. To prevent this unique building from falling into a state of disrepair and its history gone forever, the last miller's son has lovingly and tastefully converted it into holiday accommodation. All the original workings are still intact and can be viewed throughout the building.

From the door you can walk through fields and hills and drive a short distance to the Brenig Reservoir (Llyn Brenig) a great destination for walking, biking, fishing and picnics!

Three miles away is the market town of Denbigh, the birth place of H M Stanley, its castle looming high above the town.

Ten miles away is Ruthin the county town of Denbighshire,

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Llangollen are well worth a visit. The famous Llangollen Canal and the awesome Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (a World Heritage site), the Llangollen Railway, has opportunities for many activities including rafting, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, abseiling, and gorge walking. Llangollen is also home to the annual International Eisteddfod.

Visit the Snowdonia National Park with its magnificent scenery and wide range of outdoor activities, where you can walk or take the train up Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales and experience the breathtaking panoramic view from the top.

“Magic place in the heart of North Wales”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2019

A lovely cottage with charm and history. Buckets of character. Perfect for a 3 night 'twixmas' stay.

“Short break in beautifully converted water mill.”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2018

Lovely rural setting but not too remote, pretty garden bordered by stream although weather not conducive to much exploration! Cottage very clean and well equipped for a comfortable stay, though watch your heads. Quite hard to find, given that the signpost off the Denbigh road to the right is dirty and easily missed.

“Peaceful place and well maintained”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2018

It was a wonderful experience as a family.well maintained throughout, good clean house and a serene and tranquil private garden.owners are belpful when needed.family opposite are very friendly and helpful. There were some after eight mintchocolateto welcome us and some tea and coffee.overall wonderful experience.go in hot weather to enjoy.snowdonia, ruthin and the castle is all beautiful. Downfall is the low beamed ceiling in the bedrooms.the road so narrow,so give extra time to travel,no shops nearby so have some food to start off.

“Relax and relax some more !”

Reviewed 19 Jan 2014

Had a lovely stay at the Mill - we used it as a base to visit the area and do some walking. A short drive takes you to the Coast and lovely towns like Conwy or go inland to Snowdonia . Within an hour or so drive to Manchester and Liverpool - relax in a fantastic hideaway !.
