“A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location, with a wonderful owner”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2016

We had a fantastic stay in Seagull Cottage and Tracey is a wonderful host, with great communication from start to finish and lovely welcome pack on arrival. When we realised part of one of the children's games consoles was missing she also arranged for a new part to be delivered the very next day - great service and much appreciated by excited children! The cottage has been beautifully renovated/decorated and we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy the beautiful long garden too. The area is lovely and joss bay and kingsgate bay are both in walking distance and offer a lovely morning running route for those who like a bit of exercise. Broadstairs is a good base for exploring the local area - the highlights for us were Canterbury, Deal (great swimming pool for children) and Minnis Bay where you can bikes and ride along the Viking trail. Westwood cross shopping area is right on the doorstep, with every supermarket you could need. I have a feeling we will return one day.

“A stunning cottage, beautifully decorated and felt like home.”

We stayed at Sesgull Cottage at Christmas with my six year old Son and my Husband along with my Sister and her Husband and their two adult daughters. When we arrived everything was perfect, the cottage had been decorated with little Christmas touches and a welcome basket left for us to enjoy. I cannot recommend this cottage enough, the owners Tracey and Richard have put their heart and sole into this little haven of tranquility. You could not ask for anything more for a truly relaxing holiday, the surrounding area of Broadstairs was well known to us as I was born there, it has wonderful restaurants and beautiful beaches, for those of you who like to cook the kitchen was fully equipped and has a wonderful dining room, the garden is big and would be wonderful when the weather is warmer. Thank you for making our Christmas so very special Tracey and Richard.

“Stylish, but comfortable and well-equipped, cottage in stunning village location and just a stroll to the sea”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2015

We loved the cottage and its village location. It is deceptively spacious and has been renovated to a very high standard and stylishly too. Everything was clean and fresh. The owners were a delight to deal with and recommended several local sights including the many stunning, yet quiet, beaches as well as Dickens' House Museum in Broadstairs and The Turner Contemporary in Margate. Highly recommend a visit to this cottage in this part of the country at any time of the year.

“A lovely comfortable home from home.”

We had a wonderful stay at Seagull Cottage, despite dismal weather! The house was so beautifully presented, with lovely personal touches. The photo's don't really do it justice. We arrived quite late on the arrival day, after getting stuck on the M2 for 5 hours! Once we arrived, key pick-up was easy and we immediately felt at home. There was milk in the fridge and a really thoughtful welcome pack - I won't reveal as it will spoil the surprise! The kids loved the den, which was a real bonus with the rainy weather. The garden is beautiful - mostly admired from the dining area, although we did brave the weather for a barbeque one evening! Off street parking was a bonus and there was space on the road for visitors. The communication with the owner was excellent - all my queries were answered straight away, even questions about the plants in her garden! We didn't try walking to the beach, we preferred to take all the kit in the car. It was just a few minutes drive to Joss Bay and parking was no problem. All in all a great experience and we would love to return. Thank you.

“Spotlessly clean, well equiped in a convenient & quiet location”

Stayed here for 1 week in July whilst we visited our friends and family in the area. Located about 5 mins drive from central broadstairs. The Loop bus service also stops nearby. The kitchen had everything we might need to cook for ourselves and our 2 young children (ages 5 and 20 months), even plenty of plastic cups, plates and bowls for the kids. Lovely sunn, fenced back garden with sun loungers, patio area with table and chairs for 6 people, a rotary washing line and even a slide which our kids loved. Lovely spotless bed linen and white towels. The whole house was immaculate on our arrival. The housekeeper does a thorough job between clients. We would definitely return in future.

“Brilliant Cottage - look no further!”

We had never been to Broadstairs before so Tracey's very helpful emails before our holiday were very welcome with tips of where to go & what to see. In fact Tracey has been a complete delight to deal with since our intital booking. The Cottage is Beautiful. In a very quiet Road with a lovely garden as an added bonus. It has been equipped to a very high standard and is a real home from home with many well thought out extra's. Soozie the next door neighbour is very friendly and helped us with directions and even lent my children her swingball to play with! So if you are thinking of coming to Broadstairs this is the Cottage for you!

“Excellent”

We had a lovely holiday in June. The house is fully furnished with everything you want for small children. Ours loved the garden with the slide and the basement playroom with the lego. There are several beaches a short drive away. The décor is like staying in a plush hotel, very relaxing break.

“Peaceful, well designed and relaxing, great garden.”

Great location close to a number of coastal towns and bays. Could walk to the nearest beach in a ten minute stroll. If a longer walk was needed could get to the lovely town of Broadstairs within twenty five minutes. The house was very well presented with a thoughtful layout that made us which wish for the same at home. Lovely garden were we sat for meals and relaxed at the end of the day. Lots of nice touches that made the house a joy.

“Beautiful cottage in great location”

Reviewed 3 May 2015

Seagull cottage is an extremely well equipped and beautifully furnished cottage - definitely the best I have stayed in. It has a lovely relaxing atmosphere and is in a great location. We had a great girls weekend and all felt better for the break. The cottage is near to a friendly pub and we had an excellent meal at a restaurant in Broadstairs called Wyatt & Jones. Broadstairs is a lovely unspoilt seaside town with beautiful beaches. To sum up I would 100% recommend this fabulous, beautiful cottage.

“A Little Bit of Heaven on the Kent Coast”

Reviewed 1 Dec 2014

We couldn't fault our stay in this beautifully appointed property - a real home away from home - and it can only get even better with the upcoming installation of a log-burner in the living-room set to make Seagull Cottage and this lovely corner of Kent a wonderful winter break location, as well as for traditional summer family holidays. Friendly, helpful owners (excellent comms. from them), made our late, half-term booking go without a hitch and lovely Soozie next door was a mine of helpful and interesting local information, as well as assisting us in making sense of Thanet Council's overly complicated refuse recycling regime! Stunning local beaches at Joss Bay and in Broadstairs itself, make Seagull Cottage an ideal base for family holidays as well as for adult parties wanting to explore all that east Kent has to offer - and don't forget to visit wonderful 'Morrelli's' for the best ice-creams you will ever taste in the most fantastic setting. Only downside for us was that the nearby 'local' is a child-free zone at all times and therefore lost out on our business, but Broadstairs itself has a plethora of good eateries, bars and, being situated at the centre of this new movement; a couple of very good micropubs. We definately want to return to Seagull Cottage again - will just have to remember to book early!!
