“What a wonderful Christmas family holiday!”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2017

When I found Tegfryn online it looked lovely, but it exceeded our expectations. 8 members of my family wanted to get together for Christmas and we really found a wonderful place to stay! The house is large and comfortable, well equipped and warm for the winter. Christmas meant a little extra luggage and we were feeling the climb up the hill after a couple of times up and down to the car, but all was forgiven when we were treated to the views the position affords, especially a couple of beautiful sunrises over the hills and harbour. We all found the beds comfortable, plenty of room with two sitting rooms and enjoyed all the walks from the door. It's so peaceful here, and yet the convenience of Porthmadog's facilities were only a short walk or drive away and even though it was December we played on the beautiful beaches nearby. We'd love to return in the summer to see a different season in the area. We can recommend the Moorings Bistro and Seaview Café & Bistro too, great food and a warm welcome, both only a short walk from the door. We all agreed that we would stay here again in a heartbeat!

“Outstanding property, idilic location 5star holiday!!!”

We had a 3 night stay at this wonderful property. The communication I had with the owner was excellent, polite, friendly and an all round pleasure to deal with. The property has been refurbished to a high standard and has been planned with care. There was nothing that we could have wanted for. The house was light and bright and has a view to die for. There's a balcony perfect for the warmer months you'll be able to enjoy watching the tides from here. As it was February when we were here the weather was fresh but we were lucky to have the sun with us for the entire stay. The owners have gone the extra mile if you are unfortunate to have a rainy stay. Games, films and books galore to keep everyone busy, lots of family fun to be had. The location is perfect for walkers, with endless places to explore along a beautiful coast line. The village was very peacefull, perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. The amenities in the village are limited, but the town of Porthmadog is only a short walk away or a 2 minute drive has everything you'll need, shops, pubs and a tesco. There were lots of places of interest to visit with good access to snowdonia. My partner and I stayed with our little doggy and I had found it difficult to find a dog friendly property but what a find this place was. This was a really special place for us and I highly recommend a visit.

“Beautiful, peaceful and comfortable.”

We have just enjoyed a lovely week. The cottage is well maintained and comfortable. We were warm and cosy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The surrounding area is magnificent with the beautiful Coastal Path passing just to the front of the cottage. for summer visitors there are wonderful sandy beaches close by. We also found good places to eat out in nearby Portmadog. Well worth a visit.
