“Stylish and peaceful”
We took our son, daughter-in-law and 3 year old grandson with us and had a fabulous time. The cave house was very comfortable and well equipped. The only downside was the lack of local facilities and restaurants, although we were able to use the swimming pool at the local hotel 5 mins away thanks to a quick phone call from Matt. They had closed at the end of September but as the weather was so good decided to keep it open for us. Matt was very helpful if we had any queries - our little man loved his holiday house.
Owner's reply: Thank you for the kind review and i think its fair to say that there is very little within walking distance of the cave. The restaurant service at the nearby cave hotel has been extremely unreliable in the last few months. I know the owner is looking to improve that in the future by changing the leaseholders, but I am sorry it will be too late for yourselves. It was lovely meeting you and your family, especially your "little man", I feel very privileged that his first overseas trip was at our cave. Thank you again. Matt
“Converted cave dweller!”
We absolutely loved the cave. Forget conceptions that it will be damp, dark and dreary this cave is white bright spacious and not a spider or any other insect in sight. The temperature is remarkable, outside it was 35C while inside remained 18C with no need for air con or fans. Most rooms had windows or light wells and all were light and spacious. The cave was much larger than we had imagined and was ideal for our party of 2 adults and 2 kids but it would have easily accomodated 2 families or a group of 10.Having access to a large pool and lovely restuarant within a 5 minute walk was very convenient. The absolute silence was fanstatic. There is a lovely patio area sheltered from the sun that was ideal to eat and drink in or there are also 2 dining rooms inside the cave. Finally watching the stars including the milky way and shooting stars was incredible. The owner Matt was very kind and helpful. I highly recommend this cave and we are looking forward to returning.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind review, I am thrilled you had a lovely time and we'd love to see you again inb the future.
“Very comfortable and stylish "away from it all" break”
You have to concentrate on your map directions to find the ‘Cave of the Cypress’ and I suggest you find it for the first time, during daylight. Once there, we found a beautifully appointed modern cave with everything we needed. It was comfortable temperature day and night, with a sheltered courtyard in which to eat and read. The complete silence was an outstanding part of the experience together with a unique landscape to roam in. We found everything we needed in the local market town of Baza and had some memorably good meals in hidden away restaurant bars. Having a bar and pool nearby was a hit with the teenagers.
