“Loved every minute!”

Stayed at Keeper's Cottage for 5 nights and it is absolutely perfect for two people. Small but has everything needed and spotlessly clean. Great location, close to Bakewell and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The nearby pub isn't so great for food but The Bull's Head at Monyash was amazing with excellent service and delicious food. Would definitely go back. Loved the quiet, relaxing surroundings.

From booking to leaving everything was just perfect, this accommodation is small but does not lack anything. Great location, friendly pub with excellent food just a few minutes walk away. Everything has been thought of making this an excellent retreat for a peaceful break. All you need are your clothes! Would definitely recommend,

“A Quiet Retreat”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2017

A very quiet Bijou detached residence, perfectly formed with everything you could wish for, dishwasher, hair dryer, hair straighteners, ironing board, iron etc etc etc. A lovely private patio with good views. Short walk to the excellent local pub, which has good real ales and food. We ate there 3 out of 4 evenings. Walked from the cottage to Ashford- in- the Water, all downhill and off road, a lovely walk. We booked the cottage because we were going to a wedding at Thornbridge Hall. Got a local taxi back, journey no longer than 5 mins. Easy vehicle access to Bakewell and the Monsal trail, where we went walking. Lovely Lemon Drizzle cake and fresh eggs on arrival. A perfect quiet retreat!

“Beautiful and peaceful village”

A beautiful area and a quiet and peaceful village. The cottage is small and cosy with a modern shower room comfortable bedroom. The ponies are an added attraction.

“All good things come in small packages”

Reviewed 12 Apr 2017

I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere that was so beautifully and thoughtfully put together. Yes, it is a small cottage, but everything is so creatively put together with an eye for both aesthetic and practical detail that you couldn't do anything else but relax and enjoy. The little finishing touches of milk, eggs and scrumptious cake all helped to make our few days at Keepers Cottage so special for my husband and I and our 2 dogs. There are some great walks from the village and a dog friendly pub on our doorstep was a bonus.

“Perfect”

Just what the doctor ordered. Stayed for four nights. It might have been chilly outside but the cottage was toasty warm. Lovely touches with the homemade cake and freshly laid eggs from the chickens in the field next door (which they share with two adorable Shetland ponies). The cottage was full of character with the added bonus of being comfortable and had every mod con (including hair straighteners!!). Definitely want to visit again. Ignore the sock, my size three feet for always trying to break free.

“Delightful cosy cottage”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2017

My wife and I stayed in this delightful one bedroomed cottage just behind the owner's house from 27th December until 1st January. It was well appointed and with its efficient wood burner and electric radiators provided a lovely cosy home from home during the starlit cold nights in the beautiful Peaks. Once we had mastered the modern Stoves oven and hob (which Lindsay sorted with a quick lesson on our first night) we managed to cook for ourselves the whole stay. We also loved the chickens and ponies directly outside our door and the view across the valley to the hills beyond. We'll definitely be back for more!

Fantastic little cottage with great views and two lovely little ponies. A very nice lemon drizzle cake on arrival is a very welcome touch, along with milk, coffee and other helping touches. High standard cottage for a couple wanting nice walks and views. Thank you for a lovely stay.
