For Italian art lovers - Large self-catering apartment in a noble villa
Large apartment in beautiful 17th century house

Italian art lovers is a large apartment in a large 17th century house with amazing frescoes. ( make sure you watch YouTube clip on the house) The house is outside Pisa in a semi rural environment so it it wonderful location to set up base to explore this part of Italy or just stop and enjoy the wonderful spaces and large garden. Donatella and Antonio were wonderful hosts and incredibly helpful. Their recommendations for eating etc were excellent. A highlight is to get them to give you a tour of the rest of the house. We would not hesitate to come back and stay with them. Do not miss staying there if you are visiting that areasee more
The Mill Q,stunning lovely relaxing holiday property, huge green park,Wi-Fi
Molino pomaia

Molino Q property is a lovely stone house with everything you need for a quiet, relaxing and scenic holiday. A fantastic base to be able to visit other places within Tuscany, but also great if you want to just relax by the stream or have a stroll in the beautiful surroundings. The lovely quiet village of pomaia is not too far down the road and we went down often to shop. The only thing we found which may be a slight concern, was the road leading down to the property, was extremely uneven, but once you glimpse the property at the bottom, you do forget the bumps There was no iron at the property, but when on holiday, do you really want to be spending precious time pressing clothes!!! We would definitely go back to Pomaia and Molina Q.see more
Torre dei Belforti
A welcome return

Having spent two summer holidays in Montecatini as a child, my expectations were high hoping that a stay in Belforti Tower would match my memories of previous visits. I can only say that the experience exceeded what I was looking for. Our friends and kids loved the tower and the garden is is an amazing place for kids and adults to enjoy alike. Highlights included pre-dinner Gin and Tonics on the rooftop terrace with the breathtaking 360 degree views of the surroundings from Volterra on one side all the way to the sea on the other. The village of Montecatini remains as charming as I remember and many a happy evening was spent in one of the two restaurants, eating great local dishes followed by an ice cream at the Central Bar, watching the kids playing in the Square. The local bakery and supermarket are complimented by the local Friday market not to mention the van which visits every Thursday selling Smoked Mozzarella to which we are now converts. Finally to our hosts Luca and Emilia - thank you so much for your warm welcome, which really added to our stay. Luca was always available to help from a friendly chat, providing information about local places to visit to helping me get re-acquainted with friends the same age I had made 35 years earlier. To sum up this unique accommodation in an unspoilt part of Tuscany is a real gem. My only reluctance in writing this review, is ironically I don’t want too many people to visit so that when I next return it has changed as little as it did between my first visit and now. Villa Colombai: Private pool, Tennis and pickeball courts, soccer field, Chef
Fabulous Villa

We had the most amazing family holiday at Villa Columbai. The facilities are superb and there is plenty to do for all ages. Stefano is the perfect host and always on hand to provide advice and help when needed. We would recommend the Pizza workshop which was great fun and also Chef Francesca cooked us a fabulous meal in house. Tuscany is a beautiful area to visit and Villa Columbai the perfect base. We would thoroughly recommend this property and thank you Stefano once again for the great experience and all your help.see more
Flat/apartment Marina di Pisa-200mt from the sea
Wonderful Stay

We were so glad we booked this apartment. It is in a quiet corner of Marina di Pisa but with shops, bus stops, and gelato (yum!) within walking distance. The sea is also very close and although the beach is pebbly it is quiet and sheltered for swimming and there are other sandy beaches just down the coast (but you have to pay). The apartment is clean and recently refurbished and less dated than some you will see. Comfy bed, couches, fitted kitchen, TV, air conditioning, mosquito netted window, power shower, small yard, etc. (no washing machine at this time but there is a launderette around the corner). It is simple and has everything you need, and if you do need anything else Rinaldo is wonderful. He went out and got an ironing board, iron and hair dryer when we asked and had them ready for our arrival. He also supplies a little Italian romance in the form of a bottle of wine. Very nice, approachable guy. It is not a negative, but people with mobility issues should note that the master bed is in the loft space up steep with narrow steps. The sofa can be made into a bed but you would be restricted to downstairs and putting it up and down. Marina di Pisa is peaceful and less used to tourists than Pisa (you may get looks but say hello and thank you and even the guy in Conad supermarket cheers up) but makes a great base for exploration. It has a couple of lovely restaurants. Ten kilometers from Pisa and the bus is easy and frequent. When landing you can get a cheap taxi fare to Pisa bus station from the airport and jump on at stop 2 for Livorno via Marina di Pisa. In fact, Pisa train station is also easy to get to and is good for travel into Florence. We managed two weeks on public transport, saw loads and very few holdups (if you plan to do this too check out the rules, like buying bus tickets at shops and not on bus, validating them on bus, validating your train ticket on the platform, etc.) Plan to go back and split two weeks between relaxation and do a few days driving this time. If you want to head aimlessly inland and see a village, or cruise down the Etruscan coast; a car may be needed. Buon viaggio!see more
