“Italian retreat to remember” We stayed for 10 days in Capanetta, the cottage of the villa. We were two couples and appreciated that both bedrooms were comparible. Capanetta was clean, comfortable and well fitted out. The golf club dining was excellent and the course full of challenges. Full use of the pool and gardens made for some great relaxing with superb views. Managers David and Chrissie were most obligong and helped us enjoy the local treats even more. Many thanks and would highly recommend a holiday here.

“Everything, and more, than we had hoped for!” Our whole family loved this place - it is now described by our children as, "Our place in Umbria". We relaxed into it immediately and were able to feel at home. The welcoming housekeeper and the invitation to use what was there, just replace it, set the tone. The setting is lovely, the house has everything you need, with mostly modern furnishings. Having the pool and table tennis area directly beside the living area is great. Everyone could wander in and out and do their own thing. A car is a must. The local supermarket in Deruta was easy to find, well stocked and had friendly staff. Day trips to Perugia and assisi were easy to do. Some favourite memories - views of the vines and sunflowers and the relaxed, long lunches at the table out the back.

“An amazingly beautiful peaceful retreat” Thank you for the opportunity to spend an incredible 10 days at Villa Piantoni. From the ride to the Villa overlooking the Castle and Golf course, to the scent of the lavender and rosemary bushes upon our arrival we knew we had found a truly special place. The house itself was charming, and we enjoyed breakfast al fresco daily under the lovely portico overlooking the spectacular infinity pool and mountains. Your recommendations for restaurants and towns was much appreciated. The village of Montone was among our favorites as was the ferry ride on the vast Lake Trassimeno. We really had an opportunity to live with the local folks and look forward to returning to this wonderful place.

“Our favorite "home away from home"” This was the second time we've stayed at Villa Nuba. Need I say that we love it? There aren't enough superlatives for describing it. We stayed again in the del Bonfigli apartment, which is beautifully furnished, and completely comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied for light cooking. The lovely gift basket provided to guests on arrival provides the first night's and next mornings meals. The grocery store a short walk away has everything you could want for preparing meals in your apartment. The bed is divine (I never sleep well in other beds - except this one), and the linens, heavy Italian cotton, a luxury. Guiseppe and Elga are the most gracious hosts, going out of their way to make guests welcome and ensure that their stay is a good one. They provide tips on restaurants, sights, shopping and many other things. When you stay, get the Perugia walking tour guide at the tourist info center in the centro storico. It provides a guided tour of the five different neighborhoods of old Perugia, each of them quite distinct. The guide provides history and background on the churches, towers, steps, palazzos and other sights. It will give you a feel for the beautiful city that you won't get from just enjoying the Corso Vannuci. Travel through Umbria - the most beautiful part of Italy. The mountains and walled medieval cities, the soft light, the deep greens of the forests and silvery green of the olive groves playing against the yellow fields - you won't find this kind of beauty any where else! Umbrian people are friendly, helpful, warm, and happy to have visitors. The restaurants are outstanding, some of them small places mostly serving local people. We had the most amazing meals of our Italian trip in Umbria. We'll be back - to see more of Umbria, to sit and watch the gorgeous sunsets, to taste the excellent foods, and to see our hosts/friends Guiseppe and Elga (and Lorenzo).
