“What a retreat!” I was looking for some 'unwind' time and Casa Zola was perfect- it's just impossible to do anything but relax! The village is slow paced and colourful and the locals so inviting that I felt sad to say goodbye! From first contact with the owners I felt so welcome and they couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating.
The villa is beautiful, clean, comfortable and the kitchen is so well equipped with high quality goods it was a pleasure to cook! I spent most days not wanting to leave and just lounging by the beautiful pool and listening to the church bells! When I did leave I found plenty to do and one highlight was swimming in the nearby river- not to mention Shelley and Keats old homes and haunts.
I will definitely return. Thoroughly recommend! :) Big thumbs up from me!
“Peace & Tranquility” We had a lovely stay in Villa Alla Marginetta, it is situated amoungst a lovely forest. With lovely walks and a if you are into cycling a great opportunity to explore and challange yourself on the bike and there is a lovely river nearby. The area is quite hilly so i would not recommend it with regard to wheelchair access or people with walking difficulties. There was no swimming pool when we stayed but was in planning for compleation summer 2013.
There are lots of lovely restaurants within walking distance.
“Lovely secluded villa in the Tuscan hills, great views, lovely ambience” This was our fifth visit to La Casa di Livizzano and we hope it won't be our last. We would highly recommend it. The villa has a hillside setting with fabulous views, beautifully set pool, barbecue area, spacious airy rooms inside. The nearby picturesque village of San Cassiano has a traditional Italian restaurant with very reasonable prices, or it won't take you long to get to a whole range of restaurants and shops at Bagni di Lucca. Plenty of great walking in the surrounding hills. A great place to go to just to relax.
