“Top class Tuscany vacation” We stayed 1 week in Vico Pancellorum and it was absolutely top class! We were there whole family (6 persons), and we all had an exellent time in this beautiful home owned by Karen... the whole setup from Karen is top-class... meaning she has arranged all from the day we arrived with local friendly people who assisted us ll the way! the local restaurant is local Tuscany food at its best! We have travelled many times to Italy before on driving holiday from Denmark, and this is really a special spot... thank you again Karen for letting us stay in your beautiful autentic home in Tuscany, and also thanks to all all the nice "down to earth" people of Vico!

Holiday villa with swimming pool in Bagni di Lucca

Bagni di Lucca villa

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Beautiful Villa in stunning location” Spent almost a week in this beautiful villa. The views down the valley were spectacular and the village of Vico Pancellorum was charming. The villa itself was clean and comfortable - we slept better here than we do at home!! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you may need as was the rest of the villa. The pool is perfect for cooling off and the terrace on the first floor is perfect for lunches and sipping evening drinks. We were initially worried about the church bells but somehow after the first day we didn't here them anymore! The owners John and Cath were very informative even providing detailed maps for a journey to the villa. Many thanks to Cath as well for the great communication about the villa. Louisa the site manager was there to greet us when we arrived and also works in the fabulous local restaurant which is a stones throw away. Would recommend people to go to the restaurant - not only does it serve the best pasta I've ever tasted, you can also walk home in 2 minutes - no need for the car - win win! A lovely relaxing holiday. Thank you x

Holiday villa in Bagni di Lucca

Bagni di Lucca villa

4 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 7

“Secluded, peaceful and well-equipped villa” The location is in a very peaceful location up in the Tuscan hills with stunning views. Bagni di Lucca is a short drive away for the nearest supermarket and shops and Lucca, Pisa and Florence are all easily reachable by car if you want to see the sites. The villa itself has a nice kitchen/living room, on the ground floor, a double room, single and adjoined twin room on the first floor as well as another double on the lower ground floor. There are shower rooms on both first and lower ground floors and an additional loo off the lovely entrance hall. Outside there is a nice covered area for barbecues and then you have the pool with its great views across the valley. It is really well-equipped with all kinds of material about the local area, dishwasher, washing machine, games, dvd player and even rubber rings and floats for the pool. If you want a nice peaceful location then this is definitely the place for you. The only down side we found was some of the patio slabs around the pool are quite uneven and so we had a few stubbed toes over the week we stayed.

“The making of beautiful memories” The apartment is well set up with all we needed, everything was clean and in good condition. We found it to be very comfortable and the location is excellent, in fact the views are breathtaking. The owners, Jo and Tony were very pleasant and obliging, they helped with translation, bookings and any queries we had, they were very kind. We did some local walks, which were lovely and travelled by bus to Lucca and Castel Nuova, public transport is very good. Bagna di Lucca was great for eating out or a coffee and pastry when out and about, there is a small market there, twice a week I think, and a very big one at Castel Nuova which we enjoyed. All in all we had a great holiday.

Authentic Tuscan Living; Spectacular Views

Firstly, let's talk about this beautiful old townhouse. Tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, it has been sensitively renovated and outfitted with modern conveniences, whilst retaining original features and authentic character. With two double bedrooms and a twin room, it sleeps six and would suit families but was comfortable for just the two of us as well. Worth noting as well that the owner has considered pretty much everything guests might need - from a well-equipped kitchen (I was particularly taken by the coffee-maker, which indulged my inner barista) to providing equipment for an impromptu camping trip (+ a very comprehensive guest's guidebook). But it's the little comforts - eating breakfast on the balcony or sipping an apperitiv by the private pool - that make the experience of the house so satisfying. Secondly, the village. Set on a mountainside with spectacular views across the valley, Vico Pancellorum is a stunning ancient mountain village about 45 minutes drive from gorgeous Lucca (more on that later). It is mostly car-free, meaning that you park at the top of the village and then walk through the rest - as such, it's very tranquil and just a tad sleepy, albeit requiring a modicum of fitness to traverse its steep inclines and quirky, irregular cobbled streets. There's a superb restaurant at the bottom of the village but there are no other businesses. With a bus service best described as "irregular and infrequent" you need to drive to nearby town Bagni di Lucca for supplies (meaning nipping out for a loaf of bread in the morning isn't quite so simple as in a larger town) but if you want the authentic Tuscan village experience, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better example. Lastly, Tuscany itself. We've often stayed in holiday cottages in Andalusia and feel an affinity for Southern Spain but Tuscany might have won us round; the state is just spectacular and very easy to fall in love with. As said previously, the town is within reach of Modena, Florence and - our personal favourite - Lucca. It features a walled citadel (again almost car-free) where you can hire bicycles and ride around it's many handsome streets and lanes; an under-appreciated gem and (for me) probably the loveliest Old Town area I've visited in Europe (including Prague, Utrecht, Salzburg, Cordova, Seville, Edinburgh etc). Overall, you have a well-appointed, spacious townhouse in a beautiful village in one of the loveliest parts of Europe. Couldn't recommend it enough.see more
Casa Kennedy, Tuscan Villa with Private Pool
Best Villa Ever

Once we got over the slightly scary drive up to the villa, everything else was completely amazing. The view, the pool, the villa itself. It really was a home from home (actually better than my home!) Maria has thought of every thing you could possibly need. We are a family that love to cook, but even the fact that there were so many pots and pans and utensils amazed us. This holiday was a birthday present to myself and my grown up children, and they said to me is it everything you dreamed of? The answer was yes and more. We were perfectly placed for trips to Florence, Lucca and Pisa, but on the final day went to Lerici beach and Cinque Terre. What a wonderful week, wish we had have had the time to have 2 weeks, but will definitely be back. Thank yousee more
Secluded, traditional Italian villa with private grounds, pool and terrace, sleeps 7
Beautiful old farmhouse in the mountains, with a pool with amazing views.

We have spent a lovely week relaxing in the villa, enjoying the beautiful views and chilling in the pool. It's a great place for a family holiday and an excellent base to explore the surrounding area, Pisa, Lucca and Bagni di Lucca especially. We have stayed in the height of the summer and have enjoyed the slightly cooler air up here in the mountains which has been very welcome. The views are stunning in every direction.see more
Casa Luciolle
Best family holidays ever!

Casa Luciolle is perfect place for family holiday, we spent there two great weeks. The house is located short drive from Bagni di Lucca - up in the mountains, there is beautiful view on the valley and green forests from the window and the garden. Very peaceful, close to nature and quiet place. There isa beautiful garden, with grapevine pergola, offering shadow were we spent most of the time enjoying astonishing views. The small village Pieve di Controni is very picturesque, easy going place. Located at the end of the mountain road, has only 12 inhabitants, old church and couple of stone houses. It is great place to stay if you are coming by car - from one side the place is quiet, calm and offers great retreat, but it is only 10 minutes drive from Bagni di Lucca where you can go to eat or visit great open air pools, it is also only one hour drive to seaside either Viareggio or Marina di Vecchiano (free access beaches), it is also good starting point for any mountain trips. It is also ca 40 minutes to Lucca and 1 hour to PISA international airport. The people in the village are very friendly and open, direct neighbours are Italian, so you get some local flavour. The house offers two bedroom (upstairs), open salon with kitchen and family bathroom (downstairs). The house is fully equipped with all leaving amenities. In our opinion the place looks live much better than on the pictures enclosed to the offer. We highly recommend this place if you are looking for place where you want to fully relax and re-energize.see more

Wonderful and peaceful place !!!!

We spent one week in Paradise ! To be frank, everything was perfect : the place, the food, the facilities, the houses, the kindness of the owners, the pool, etc It's been 10 years that we rent houses in Europe and my friends and I were agreed about a same point : this property is definitely the best one ! Nature and peace lovers, we 'll not be disappointed !see more
Tuscany Villa near Lucca & Skiing in Abetone
Fabulous house in an incredible place

The house is fabulous! The pittoresque medieval village of Vico Pancellorum is beautiful, ideally located to visit the northern part of Tuscany (Florence - 105 mins, Lucca - 45 mins, Pisa - 80 mins). The house is up in the mountains so you have to prepare for many hair pins and climbs, but drive is well worth it and beautiful on top. The house is great. It's very well equipped for large families (we're with 5) and it's beautifully decorated. We noticed that even though it has no air conditioning, the house was always at a very comfortable temperature (outside was some 33 degrees C on average). The pool also helped cooling down and was a hit with the kids. John and Cathy – the owners – have created a comprehensive document to help you make the most of your stay and that really works very well. Local knowledge of places to visit and restaurants to eat at really make staying at Casa Zola unforgettable. And, speaking of restaurants: Vico Pancellorum is locally well known for its restaurant Buca di Baldabò. We had the best pasta, secondi piatti and desserts we ever had at an incredible price – this alone is a must go-to! All in all, we had a great time at Casa Zola; we enjoyed the house, the view, the village and Tuscany on a larger scale. We will definitely come back again!see more
