“A home away from home.” We rented two of the cottages and stayed towards the end of February. The accommodation was very well equipped and we had some lovely family meals with the beautiful view of the fjord before us. We spent our days exploring, doing the usual trips like the Blue Lagoon, Reykjavik, the geysers and waterfalls, and when we returned each evening, the cottages were warm and inviting. As there was a fierce and bitter February wind, only my husband was brave, or mad, enough to try the hot tub, but we were all fortunate to see the Northern Lights faintly on our last evening. We found Iceland fascinating and would love to return to the cottages, but perhaps in summer :-) All in all, it was an incredible experience and the hospitality of our hosts and their friendly beagles made us feel very welcome.

“The best apartment in Reykjavik!” We stayed in Reykjavik for a week and this place was amazing! Clean, well equipped, amazing views ( you can see Tjornin, Perlan and Halgrimskirkja) Ragnar was friendly and very helpful.

“Two-day stay in a nice little log cabin” We had a great stay in this nice cabin, in a peaceful location close to the river. The hot tub was fantastic for the kids (they spent hours in it), especially when the weather is a bit cold and rainy. The view from the terrace is beautiful and relaxing. Great place for the golden circle and enjoying a bit of icelandic lifestyle.

“Cozy cabin with fantastic views” We spent three nights at the house, and loved every moment. We were well prepared for the isolation, and thankfully took the advice we were given to bring plenty of food with us. What surprised us was how well equipped and cozy the house was; we had been expecting something much more basic. We enjoyed making day trips around the area, and everyone (even the teenagers) enjoyed the sense of escape and immersion into an entirely new natural environment. The views over the water are lovely.

“Wow!!! Breath taking” I can not say enough about our stay here.This was a trip of a life time. The pictures don't do the house or the surrounding area justice.With 2 collage age kids we are a active travelers and always on the run. The first day our land lord stopped by and pointed out the "Must see" destinations of the country. His input was a great help as a supplement to the tour guide. Every day was a complete adventure and after two weeks wow just did not cover it and stunned silence was a description in its self. With 24 hour sun, we where able to sight see all day. pick up food supplies before the stores closed at night. Then come home and start dinner at 10 or 11 pm. The fact that our vacation home had a grill was a great plus for quick hot dogs or grilled chicken late at night. A 2 am walk on the beach was not uncommon. The house is very comfortable and well decorated . It definitely is not the beach condo/frat house rentals that one normally comes across on vacation. I could move in here and call it home today. Our land lord was a great help. After a miss-communication on our part in regards to our departure date,they where able to adjust there schedule so we would not need to find a hotel at the last minute. That alone to me is priceless. Apparently it is common for the owner to stop by. He knocked on our door one morning and I spent an hour with him discussing both his and our travels threw out the world. Very interesting individual. If Iceland is a travel destination for any one in the future, This would defiantly be the place to stay. I definitely plan to return. Hopefully in winter to see the northern lights.

“Excellent choice” I was very impressed. The apartment is brand new, spacious and nicely decorated in a contemporary style with lovely artistic touches. The kitchen is well equipped. I stayed in summer and I loved the way the sun poured in the windows on one side in the morning and the other side in the afternoon. Vicki was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. It was easy to get to everything too. Nice walk above the town and views of the fiord.

“A perfect cottage in which to feel at home.” This is a perfect cottage in which to feel at home whilst exploring the south west of Iceland. The views across the lake and to the surrounding hills are very special. It is well equipped and has a spacious living area and I would recommend paying the small extra fee for use of the hot tub after a day's trekking in the mountains or driving around the fjords. Iceland's highest waterfall, Glymur, is nearby and is well worth the walk. Haukur and anna Lisa, the hosts, are very helpful and friendly and we very much enjoyed our time in their summerhouse.
