The perfect location- a quick trip from Piazza Venezia to the end of the tram 8 ( Casaletto ) line and you`re there. You can never get lost! The cottage is in one corner of the grounds of the villa, with wonderful views of a convent and its beautifully kept gardens. Instead of the sirens and crowds of the city center you have tranquility and the convent bells ( during the day only). The walled garden gives a feeling of safety and has room for your car if you have one.
The neighbourhood is peaceful.Kerstin took us to the local supermarket, which was well stocked with all you could need, including plenty of gluten free choices for those with celiac disease.( Also for celiacs, just 10 minutes walk down via Casaletto there is `New Food` which sells only gluten free food- pizzas, bread, pastas, cannelloni, lasagna, etc , all very fresh which you can eat back at the cottage)
The cottage itself is wonderful for two people, whether for a couple or for two singles. As we came during a cold week, Kerstin put on the central heating, which along with warm quilts and hot water whenever we needed it made the cottage very warm and cosy. The towels were enormous and could be heated on the towel rails too. The kitchen was well equipped with all we needed to cook or to heat our meals. The whole cottage was very clean and well kept.
Kerstin and Marco ,the owners, were very friendly and helpful, always ready to answer any questions and to offer suggestions, whilst also respecting our privacy.Kerstin is willing to pick you up from the airport and to take you back at the end of your trip for a very reasonable price.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this cottage for anyone who wants to enjoy the city by day and then to take the short trip `home` to the safety and tranquility of the cottage.
Excellent location, delightful cottage and wonderful hosts- thank you so much Kerstin and Marco! …
