“Maison au Coin is a superbly renovated, traditional French house” Maison au Coin is a superbly renovated, traditional French house. It is situated in a small, hill top village called Puyguilhem, which is about 7km from the nearest town with supermarket, Sigulès. The new bathrooms are all finished to a very high spec and all beds are large and very comfortable. Puyguilhem is very quiet and peaceful. The views from the house are amazing and if you are interested in bird-watching, there are plenty to see. We happily recommend the Maison au Coin to anyone looking for a truly relaxing holiday. Fantastic!

“Welcoming, relaxing and comfortable house in beautiful surroundings” We were a group of eight, comprising two grandparents, our daughter and son in law and their two children, ages six and four. We all had a wonderful holiday in this lovely house at Pontarnaud. From the moment of opening the front door we felt welcomed and comfortable. The generous 'food parcel' gift of bread, cheese, wine,eggs etc was much appreciated. The house is very spacious, stylish and clean and the gardens and patio area are a delight: secluded and very well looked after. The pool is pristine and was enjoyed by the whole family every day. The surrounding area is beautiful and I think maybe a little quieter in High Summer than the Southern Dordogne. We found plenty to do. Brantome is a beautiful little town with many places to eat, some overlooking the river and family canoeing seemed very popular. We also visited even more beautiful St Jean de Cole and the castle at Bordeilles, which was a great hit with our grandchildren. However the house at Pontarnaud was so nice we were often happy to stay put! The owner always responded promptly to emails when booking and prior to the holiday sent very detailed and helpful information about the property and surrounding area. Thank you to the James family for their hospitality. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

“something for everyone” Enjoyed an out of season golfing holiday in March with friends. The golf course was only a ten minute drive from the house. Acabanes was a good choice of holiday rental due to the extensive indoor facilities: pool table, board games, table football and the 50in plasma with hundreds of dvd's. We also enjoyed the infrared sauna and heated outdoor pool. The non golfers used the house bikes for leisurely rides and enjoyed the local wine tasting. A holiday for everyone!

“Fantastic Gite - great holiday had by us all” There was 9 of us on holiday for 2 weeks (including a 4 year old and a 1 year old). We all had a great holiday. Brian and Tracy have got the balance of being there if needed, but not intruding in any way. They are also willing to arrange wine tasting / on site chef etc if asked. There were some really nice touches for the children ie. toys and the tree house. The pool is brilliant and there is everything you could ask for in the house. The village is only a five minute walk from the accommodation and offers a couple of shops for the basics, as well as a bar which is very friendly that also offers food. Within a ten minute drive there is a large hypermarket offerering everything you will need for a self catering holiday. A car is a necessity but this enables you to visit some beautiful towns and villages in the surrounding area. We would definitely recommend this Gite and we are likely to be re-booking for another year - Thank you Brian and Tracy for helping us have a great holiday. Chris

“Magical property, totally amazing views. Loved everything about it!” We rented this property as a group of three families (16 of us in all!) & from the moment we arrived we could not have felt more at home! The house itself is simply stunning and has been renovated/re-decorated beautifully. It was spacious and very clean. All of the guest rooms were a delight and the added touches of iPod doc's & universal phone chargers in each room were brilliant. We stayed for 3 weeks and the first couple of days the weather was a bit miserable but none of us had ever been to a house that provided so much in house entertainment!!! There were 9 children in our party and there were so many cupboards stuffed full with boardgames/toys/jigsaws etc that our little ones were always happy!!! The outside dining areas were well thought out and as there were several we got into a routine of breakfast at one, lunch at another and then, depending on the heat, dinner at a third!! Obviously, the pool was a hit with all of our children & the views are breathtaking. One of the most amazing things about this property is it's location. With all of us coping with busy lives and living on main roads!!! The quietness was total bliss! Maybe upto 5 cars driving passed (on a busy day!) We just loved being away from everything and therefore totally relaxing. This is the perfect property to just kick back and relax! We ate (too much!), drank (far too much!!) and possibly relaxed more than ever before on a rental holiday. We would definately recommend La coutancie and will be hoping to return again in the next few years! Also, a thanks to Robert for all his assistance and efficiency with booking/paying and for proving us with so much local information, it was very much appreciated.
