“Rural retreat, ideal for exploring the Dordogne.” We received a warm welcome, a gift of fresh eggs and wine and good advice about local amenities, the nearby boulangerie, supermarket, petrol and places to eat nearby. The converted barn is surprisingly spacious with all you need and we enjoyed the sunset view across fields to a chateau. The location is quiet but within walking distance of the village. There is so much to do and see in the area, beautiful gardens overlooking the river, chateaux, hill towns, fascinating cave dwellings, canoeing, towns to explore. We realised a week is not long enough and would certainly like to return.

“Wonderful cottage!” Excellent little cottage with a great pool and huge private garden. Bicycles are provided by the owners which come in really handy just to cycle round the local roads. Had a problem with the toilet but it got sorted reasonably fast. All in all we had fantastic relaxing time. Highly recommended!

“Perfect for our requirements!” We can only echo the sentiments expressed by previous reviewers of this property. We have been holidaying in France for a number of years, but this was the first time that we have needed to visit out of season. The accommodation was exactly what we needed. Clean, warm, comfortable and practical. The owners were helpful and friendly, and we could have asked for no more. Probably the best testimonial we can write is that a month after this stay, we needed to return to finish off a few things, and we had no hesitation in contacting the Karen and Steve and booking up again! As expected, the second stay was every bit as satisfactory as the first.

Relax and enjoy old stone cottage with heated swimming pool
Perfect holiday house

Fantastic location, quite but not isolated and perfect for exploring the various sights the local area has to offer. The house itself has spacious rooms that have been furnished to a very good standard and a well equipped kitchen, indeed it probably the best equipped house we have stayed in. The garden is huge and enclosed making it both very private and secure for the children. The play equipment is an added bonus and the heated pool is fantastic. Outside the large terrace area benefits from both being in the sun all day and having shade provided by either a retractable awning or a beautiful old tree. Located approx. 1 mile from the town just off a very quite road, this property is within easy reach of local amenities. … see more

We enjoyed a great week in this converted barn which was close enough to the main visitors sites in the Dordogne but secluded enough to allow us to relax in the evening as the sun went down over the fields.Karen and Steve were great hosts friendly but not intrusive and we would recommend the accommodation to another couple who enjoy the quiet things in life. … see more
