Bosnia-Herzegovina holidays

Bosnia Herzegovina is a meeting point for East and West, and has been fought over for centuries. In recent years the region has managed to put its troubles into the past, and has opened its doors to visitors. For a city break, Sarajevo’s Old Town has one of the most charming markets, and Mostar’s Stari Most or Old Bridge is a beautiful piece of Ottoman architecture. The country has a great seaside resort – Neum – and there’s great hiking in the Alps. The Jahorina Mountains once hosted the Winter Olympics and now offer wonderful, inexpensive skiing.

Beautiful villa with spectacular views.

A lovely well equipped and beautifully presented villa with spectacular views. It is spacious and clean. There are plenty of staff to ensure a good experience at the villa from the managers, gardener, drivers and pool boys. Before we went, queries were always answered promptly by Sara and good information imparted. The only downside is that the villa is located just on the Bosnian side of the border. Bosnia has some lovely places to visit, particularly Trebinje and Mostar and is a lot cheaper than Croatia so once in the villa, they are easy to visit. However the Croatian border control seem to want to delay people entering into Croatia for as long as possible. Most times if we timed it right, the delays were less than 20 minutes but on the final day, when fortunately we had allowed plenty of time to get to the airport we sailed through the Bosnian border, only to be held up for one hour and 38 minutes at the Croatian border. This can be circumvented by parking a car on the Croatian side and walking through the border but on this particular occasion my husband,four-year-old granddaughter and I had all the luggage and the car seat for the family so this was not an option. Our son and daughter in law left the villa an hour later and walked through the border to the taxi service run by Bozholidays and got to the airport well ahead of us. Waiting time

The house lives up to all expectations, very private and clean with the most wonderful sunsets . The position of the house enables you to look out towards the sea and is the house with the best views in the area . How ever the beauty of Croatia although close can't be reached without going threw 2 border controls . Yes they are building a new border control in Bosnia but I personally don't believe this will ease the horrendous queues at the borders . Other borders to Montenegro are Larger but it doesn't matter how many lanes they have if they only open one up. I appreciate July is a busy month but 2.5 hours waiting to cross into Croatia is not as explained most times like crossing threw traffic lights . You can if you won't get a lift to the borders by the staff who have a car on the other side to save time , this will cost 40euro. Which is the best 40 Euro you will spend all day to avoid the waiting time .Talking to the locals in Bosnia and Croatia this border crossing is always time consuming and tedious. I enjoy privacy and this house is just that , they are buildings half built on the way up to the villa and the road is very bumpy but this is all explained and it was as expected. The village has two local shops which are well stoked but you will need to drive into Tribinje which is around 20 mins drive to get fresh meat . It's well worth going and buying in bulk then using the local shops for bread milk etc. Tribinje is a beautiful place and well worth a visit on Saturday which is market day . Montenegro is only an hour away (plus border we waited an hour going in 5 mins coming back) and well worth a day trip , it's stunning and reminds me a lot of the Italian lakes. Dubrovnik is as expected amazing and very picturesque. A trip up the cable car will give you amazing views of the city (not cheap) . At the top of the cable car u can rent buggies which is a great fun . Go on the last trip of the day and watch the sun go down over the Dubrovnik islands . Lokrum is also worth a trip , take the first ferry across and be the first in the Dead Sea . If Bosnia get in the European Union and border control disappears the area where the house is will be a gem , Amazing views Bosnian prices and very close to Dubrovnik . Until then I would say that guests need to be told more about waiting time because there is plenty of it . … see more

AMAZING

we stopped in Villa Olive just past the Bosnian border crossing, this place was nothing less than 5 star, the villa itself was perfect, clean ,spacious with an infinity pool to die for! The location was superb, 15 minutes from Dubrovnik although its difficult to park in the centre so we took a taxi instead of driving or the water taxi from Cavtat/Subreno/Mlini is also a great way to get there and cheap. we visited a few places in Bosnia - very exciting and very beautiful, we loved exploring Bosnia. The border crossing wasn't too bad, there can be long queues so we preferred to leave the car on the Croatian side and walk through (the villa is only 5 min walk from the crossing) All in all if you want to visit Bonia and Croatia this is the place to stay (Boz Holidays), I cant rate this place enough, would definitely go back if there weren't any other places to visit in the world! … see more

Fantastic Vacation Villa!

We stayed with Boz Holidays in the Queen Villa and had a spectacular holiday! The Villa was immaculately clean and perfectly furnished. Sara and family were lovely, welcoming and ensured we had a wealth of local tips to maximize our adventures and relaxation! We found the location a perfect spot to day trip to/from Dubrovnik, Mostar, the Bay of Kotor and Cavtat. The pool was a refreshing end to our days. The kitchen provisions made cocktails, appetizers and home cooking easy and pleasant. We also delighted in some of the local Bosnian restaurants and cuisine. Just wow!

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful villa! The villa is well presented and homely, the owners have thought of everything to make a confortable stay - we appreciated the little extras such as bread, cheese, cold meat and wine on arrival, the books in the cupboard, the welcome pack. All of the staff were so warm, welcoming and friendly.. from day 1 of Sara at booking and again at the villa, our arrival with the taxi driver at the airport and Jelena at the villa. All staff couldn't be more helpful and responded to any wuestions promptly. The location- WOW! This villa has the most breathtaking views and was in such a peaceful location- it was great to come home from a long, tiring day sightseeing to the pool, bbq and tranquil surroundings to relax! The location gave us an ideal base to explore both Croatia and Bosnia- both equally worth exploring and with their own charm! As a family of 4, with two children 12 and 9, we were able to find activities and sights to suit us all- we enjoyed days out in Trebinje, Mostar and Kravica waterfalls in Bosnia and Cavtat,Dubrovnik,Srebreno and Lokrum in Croatia. Bosnia is very cheap to go out and eat and we recommend the two local restaurants Izvor and Drijen. Thankyou to the bozholidays team, we are feeling very refreshed! We hope to return!! … see more
