Cubble Head is a lovely Grade 2 listed 18th century farmhouse with panoramic views in Burtersett, a traditional Dales village just 1.5 miles from the bustling market town of Hawes. It is peacefully situated on a back road high above the valley. The cottage has been sympathetically and fully restored with taste and passion and now blends traditional charm such as beamed ceilings, solid oak ledged and braced doors and a log fire, with all modern conveniences. There are 4 bedrooms, including a superking size bed, all with high quality bed linen from John Lewis and 2 separate bath / shower rooms. Downstairs, there is a lovely oak breakfast kitchen, a living room and separate dining room so the cottage is spacious for a family. Cubble Head has a garden and paddock of 0.75 acres with 3 separate outdoor areas to sit and enjoy the sun and a glass of wine and, of course, the amazing views – you can see for miles. There is plenty of parking in our yard.
All our holiday weeks start on a Saturday. During low season - November to March, excluding Christmas and New Year, we can offer short breaks of 3 days.
In the rest of the year, for some weeks, we may be able to offer 5 or 6 day bookings, Saturday/Sunday/Monday (3pm) to Thursday/Friday (10am). These breaks are priced at 80% of the weekly cost for 5 days, and 90% for 6 days. If you would like a 5 or 6 day holiday rather than a full week, please email or phone us to check if this is possible. Please note this does not apply to Christmas or New Year.

Outdoors
Cubble Head has a large patio area at the front (south) and side of the house with garden furniture - a lovely large hardwood table and 6 chairs. The patio is a suntrap and enjoys magnificent views of the hills and the Wensleydale valley - perfect for 'al fresco' dining. There is also a grassy picnic area with a large picnic bench to the east side of the house and the views from here are breathtaking, looking across, up and down Wensleydale. You can see for miles! To the front of the house, there is a large enclosed paddock which would provide a safe play area for children. When the gates are closed, the whole garden is enclosed and secure.
The setting is incredibly peaceful and we have wonderful dark skies at night with millions of stars. Little Owls nest in the nearby barn and the garden is a haven for birds, including woodpeckers.
There is ample parking for several cars within the grounds and there is a large parking area just on the left as you turn off the lane. An unsurfaced track leads about 25 metres from this main parking area to the house and makes for easier unloading / packing up as you can park the car quite close to the house.
