We really enjoyed our stay. It was lovely to wake up, look out of the window and see wild ponies wandering around the green. The cottage is very pleasant, with a small garden and a barbecue that would be great in the summer although the weather didn't really permit it during our stay. We had a great time renting bikes and cycling around the New Forest, and the food at the nearby Snakecatcher pub was excellent. |

This cottage is in a brilliant position, perfectly placed next to open forest. Ponies and cattle pass right by the front door, it is safe for young children and a short, delightful walk to the excellent village of Brockenhurst. We have stayed here many times and each time feel we are returning home. The house is dog friendly, well stocked with everything you need for a family holiday and we have never failed to have a perfect stay here. it is marvellous to be able to walk straight out into forest where the children love the small stream in which they can paddle, sail boats and build dams. For the serious walker there are long, perfect tracks across the fields where ponies roam. And for the children the house is within a 10 minute drive from Poultons theme park!! Altogether an idyllic place to have a holiday, whatever the weather. Can't wait to return. |

Where can I start! Grubby, cold. Mattress on one of the double beds must have been at least 20 years old, I now know what people mean by a lumpy mattress! The other one had a nasty stain on it! Kitchen - Curtain falling off rail, fire extinguisher expired in 2006! Unable to cook as microwave so complicated and old! Cooker not usable as symbols worn off so unable to see where oven/grill setting were. Pots, pans and plates grubby. Fire extinguisher in the lounge still in sealed box! |
