Kalkan

The historic town of Kalkan is an enchanting place and one of the most beautiful locations along Turkey's Mediterranean Coast. With the complete absence of mass tourism, Kalkan remains a charming and unspoiled haven, brilliant blue crystal-clear sea, historic architecture, ancient history and warm traditional Turkish hospitality.

Once a simple fishing village, todayâ??s Kalkan is quietly sophisticated and postcard pretty with a few good quality low-rise hotels and apartments and a multitude of excellent roof-top restaurants offering all manner of culinary delights together with stylish and atmospheric Blues and Jazz bars. The village shops stay open till around midnight and are well stocked with interesting antiques, crafts, jewellery, clothing and accessories. The narrow streets twist down to the harbour, which is the focus of the village and here you can enjoy a meal whilst watching the world go by or looking at the array of elegant gullets and yachts. A day at sea is a must!

Other Activities: wonderful boat trips from the harbour and there is a diving school in Kalkan.

Golf: Sarigerme near Dalaman

Ski: High above Fetiye is a brand new ski resort.

"Exceeded expectations for a homely large family group holiday base"

We were blessed with wonderful calm hot sunny weather through our stay & the villa exceeded our high expectations in providing us with a homely base in Kisla with excellent cool a/c when we needed it for comfort with our parents who are three elderly couples we had with us.

5 double/twin rooms all with en-suites are not common in the area & we felt very lucky with our choice of building, ameneties throughout, the super relaxing area around the pool & the proximity to the beach club at the bottom of the road. Sun lounges for everyone were good & the two nice shady areas were appreciated by the oldies. Daily deliveries of fresh bread were much appreciated.

Bob's local shop proved useful at times & we dined at the Fidanka 2 mins up the hill & enjoyed the local fayre. Lots of friendly taxi cabs proved easy to book & al the locals were so helpful & hospitable throughout our stay.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, we were delighted that you were so pleased with our Villa Amare as the setting for your lovely wedding. We wish you all the best for the future and hope to be able to welcome you back at some point in the future.

kindest wishes Graham and Amanda

"Beautiful Villa Amare, fantastic holiday"

Villa Amare is a splendid villa set on a bank with fabulous views across the bay. The villa provides full facilities and is tastefully furnished with lovely, comfortable and airy rooms.
Outside there are varied places to laze and relax as well as a pool to enjoy and a BBQ area which catches the last rays of the day.
Nearby there are several good bars and restaurants within walking distance and the local beach club offers a ferry boat service across the bay to Kalkan. A visit here is a must as at night as it offers a relaxed holiday feel with its cobbled streets and rooftop and waterside bars and restaurants.
We will definitely be booking again to go to Villa Amare.

"Lovely villa, perfect holiday"

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Amare, the Villa was clean, spacious, and well appointed to our needs. Everything we needed was in the Villa and it was lovely to see Mandys personal touch through out (The photographs were beautiful)
Hassan looked after us everyday, bring in bread daily was a lovely touch.
We would recommend the Villa to all our friends and look forward to staying there again.
The view from the Villa was beautiful and it was well appointed so that you only had to walk a few minutes to reach the sea for a swim or a ride into Kalkan on the local boat service.
Thankyou Graham and Mandy for a lovely holiday x

Thank you so much for your review, it is much appreciated and we hope to welcome you back in the future. We work hard to exceed our guests' expectations and reviews are important to us.

"Happy holiday"

We had wonderful time and your villa was just perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace, comfort and views. Everybody was so helpful, and we could easily have stayed longer.
One day we went on a boat trip (on Whisper - definitely recommended - well looked after and great laugh) and we also went sea-kayaking at Kakova (great fun). Lazy days at the villa were spent chilling out and we walked down to the sea for good long swims. We had some lovely meals out in Kalkan (would recommend the Gironda and the Olive Garden) and frequented the Fidanka (just up the road) a few times - fabulous.
All in all, we have had a super time, and we thank you for all your help and kindness.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, it is very much appreciated... hope to see you again sometime soon ..... Amanda and Graham

We are sorry that you were unhappy with your stay and will endeavour to meet your points one by one.

The view is exactly as shown in the pictures on our web-site. It is the Bay of Kalkan in the Mediterranean Sea, and most guests find it exceptionally beautiful.

The pool is just outside the living room, again this is shown in the pictures on our web-site. Many guests are pleased to be able to watch their children in the pool without having to go far from the villa.

The tiles unfortunately do get slippery when they are wet. There is a notice warning of this.

We apologize for the omission of a Turkish teapot. It is not an item that has been requested so we did not think to put one in.

We had extensive correspondence with the gentleman who booked your villa (I understand a relative of yours) and explained that there was one other villa next door but nothing to the other side or in front of us. In fairness, if it had been a real issue then maybe you should not have booked with us.

Our manager reported that all the sheets had been stained with henna, and repeated attempts to wash clean had failed. We politely requested payment for them, as we had not taken a deposit from you, trusting you to report any damage. Maybe a hotel would not have charged but the fact remains that they had to be replaced.

We do pride ourselves on the quality of our service, the care of our Manager and the standard of our villa and are sorry that you felt it did not meet your expectations in this instance.

"Beautiful and well appointed property overlooking azure seas"

We have stayed at Villa Amare twice now with my husband and two children (2 and 4), and various extended family members. The villa is lovely and spacious so privacy is no problem.

There are numerous places to relax – whether on your own balcony or by the pool. A lovely long outside table makes for enjoyable evening barbecues in. For eating out Kisla itself has a couple of lovely places to eat and drink, but nearby Kalkan has anything you could want, from lively bars to intimate dining for two.

The views of Kalkan bay greet you every morning and a trip out on a Gulet is a must. Numerous beautiful places to visit nearby too.

Villa Highlights: Bread delivered daily, Comfy bedrooms, Spacious, Holiday book shelf! Close to the beach.

We are planning on going again! It's lovely.
