The stunning interior of this unique barn-conversion is matched only by the uninterrupted views of the Severn Valley it affords. Wonderful old beams on both the ground and first floor, as well as cosy log burners make this spacious property warm and welcoming. A new addition, a hot tub seating 5 -7, makes Gaer Hall the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Not overlooked, Gaer Hall has plenty of garden space for a kick about with the kids, for summer parties, or simply for sitting out and relaxing. On wet days there is also a large Sky TV with DVD player in the ground floor living/dining room, complete with reclining sofas and chairs. The first floor drawing room, also with a TV with Sky Sports and BT Sports, with its magnificent roof trusses and tasteful decor is perfect for entertaining family and friends, as well as relaxing with a book from our extensive collection.
The property is suitable for extended family groups or groups of friends, whether it's for special occasions like family birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and hen- and stag-weekends, or simply a relaxing break in the country. Catering for parties or B&B can be arranged if required, as well as limo hire and pampering sessions for hen parties. We are now offering guided walks and mid week craft activities including afternoon tea, a glass or two of fizzy wine and the chance to luxuriate afterwards in the hot tub.
Gaer Hall is ideal for an intimate wedding party. You can get married at a local church, by a waterfall or even in the stunning Powis Castle. The Hall together with the estate lodge, Tan y Gaer, can accommodate over 30 guests. We have facilities for camping as well as 3 retro caravans available for letting in the orchard. We are happy to arrange catering or you can do it yourself. You can have a fantastic rustic country wedding without breaking the Bank as we have outdoor tables and chairs for up to 100 guests.
Further details
Pets are welcome. Dogs must be on lead at all times (horses nearby). Smoking permitted outside (under patio arches if wet).
The hot tub is a Layze Spa inflatable tub seating 5-7 adults. Please be aware that this type of hot tub cannot function in extremely cold conditions, ie below 4-6 degrees. It's also important to be sensible when using the hot tub. Don't go in on your own, or if you are intoxicated and don't let children in unattended. It goes without saying that jumping in off the sides is a total no no and we'd expect you to pay for any damages.
We don't want to give you a list of things not to do. I would find that oppressive. We can be flexible around the sleeping accommodation. Some of rooms have zip or trundle beds so they can be made up as twin beds or a double. We also have a laundry room which was originally an 8th bedroom. We can make this up as an additional single room with rug, single bed, table and bedside light. There is also a double sofa bed in the Library.
On the estate there are 2 properties which means we can accommodate parties of up to 30, but you would need to book both properties at the same time.

A large, bright room, it is an ideal place for listening to music, making and eating tapas with friends, or generally chilling with a newspaper and coffee.
The bedroom accommodation is very flexible. The ground floor en suite has shower. The first floor en suite has bath with shower attachment and bidet. Second floor bathroom has a shower above the bath.
The downstairs lounge diner has a table for 12 and there is a second table and chairs in the kitchen. We are happy for you to move furniture around to suit your needs.
The hot tub is on the patio so you need only step out from the lounge diner and you're there.

The Hall has a large stone terrace with outstanding views from the hot tub! It's a great place to have a BBQ with family and friends. The Hall is in its' own grounds so there's no passing traffic. The front of the house overlooks an Iron Age Hillfort, Gaer Fawr, where there is a secret fossil beach. The back has extensive views over the Severn valley and the Breidden Hills.
The overall site is just shy of 12 acres and we have horses, all home bred, who share Gaer Hall estate with us. They are quite friendly and enjoy attention and the odd carrot but do please make sure you watch out for your children. Hands held flat with the thumb tucked in! We make our own hay end of June/ July time and you are very welcome to help us get it in the barn!
Montgomeryshire (one of 3 ancient counties that makes up Powys) is a walkers paradise. Walks start at the end of our dive, and if you want to follow a length of Offas's Dyke, it's less than a 10 minute drive away.
