Outside is a sunny walled garden and seating area from which the front door leads into the well equipped farmhouse kitchen with it's large pine table, range cooker and open fire, - perfect for romantic dining, or for family and friends to get together. Off the kitchen is a handy utility room with toilet, basin, washer, dryer, and storage for coats and boots. There is a cosy lounge with an open fire, window seat and internet tv.
Upstairs there are two pretty bedrooms with window seats. One double (with a travel cot if needed), and a flexible double/ triple bedroom which can be 3 singles; a double and a single, or a comfortable double room. one single bed can be separated by a curtain if some privacy is required. There is also a family bathroom with over-bath shower.
We welcome guests by laying the fires for your arrival and making the beds with pure cotton linens and feather and down bedding, as well as providing a few toys, books, games and local information.
East View Cottage is handily located on the edge of the village just a short walk from the local amenities yet on the footpath that takes you through the farm and unspoilt bluebell woods up onto the Gritstone edge for stunning views, spectacular walks and a wealth of wildlife, including several Buzzards.
The cottage is part of Hollins Farm which is located Just up the track from the Cottage. Guests can meet the animals and enjoy exploring the Farm and can sample our organic eggs and meat.
Dogs are welcome by arrangement, for a small extra charge, and we also offer DIY livery for your horse, as well as secure storage for bikes, hang gliders and kit. Or why not hire our vintage Triumph Herald and explore the area in style!

The Heart of England/Peak District
The Derbyshire Peak District National Park is a popular visitor destination with miles of beautiful scenery from spectacular gritstone edges and open moorland in the North, to the gorges and beautiful dales of the limestone to the South and West. The area is extremely popular with walkers, climbers, pot holers, horse riders, cyclists and gliders. There are plenty of interesting and attractive market towns to explore including Bakewell (of pudding fame), Buxton, Matlock and Ashbourne as well as a lots of pretty Derbyshire villages.
The region is also home to a wealth of stately homes including Chatsworth; Haddon Hall and Renishaw as well as sites of geological interest from the caves at Castleton to the gorge at Matlock Bath. The river Derwent which flows from the North to the South of the region is a World Heritage site with many visitor attractions interpreting the rich industrial heritage.
All this is within easy reach of Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester and Derby.
EYAM is a picturesque, unspoilt village nestling in a hollow on the hillside where the crags and edges of the Dark Peak meet the hills and dales of the White Peak limestone of Derbyshire. The village is famous for cutting itself off from neighbouring villages to stop the spread of the plague and there is a museum and audio trail telling the story. The pretty Norman church, St Lawrence's, welcomes visitors, as does Eyam Hall and craft centre which is now run by the National Trust. There are two shops, cafes, a post office and a pub in the village, as well as a great children's play area and tennis courts, all within an easy walk from East View Cottage. Eyam holds an annual well dressing in August and carnival in September as well as the renowned Half Marathon in May, and excellent bonfire and fireworks in November.
There's miles of fantastic walking, riding and biking from the doorstep, with plenty of great pubs en- route for sustenance, and world renowned climbing, pot holing and flying within a few minutes drive. Chatsworth House is 15 minutes away as is the market town of Bakewell with lots of interesting shops and restaurants and a weekly livestock market and produce market and a monthly artisan food market.
