Douglas Cottage is a grade II listed cottage within the City of Chester, designed by the renowned Architect John Douglas. Being of a fascinating fairytale gothic design it features sandstone faced walls with spires and turrets, an Architect’s dream.
You will immediately be struck by the remarkably high quality of accommodation comprising of:-
A most attractive living room with original mullion windows and outstanding fireplace.
Dining room with heavy oak banqueting table and antique oak furniture and double gothic type doors opening to a lovely patio area.
A pristine superbly equipped kitchen with an adjoining utility area and toilet facilities.
A winding staircase leads to the upper floors which feature three immaculately presented comfortable bedrooms with memory foam mattresses, all single beds by Tempur.
On the first floor there is the master bedroom and the single bedroom. Both rooms share the beautiful main bathroom with shower bath and fully tiled walls.
On the top floor is the twin bedroom which has a superbly appointed on-suite shower room.

All linen and towels (1bath and 1 hand towel per guest) are provided.
End of stay cleaning is included in the rental price but guests are expected to leave the property in a clean and tidy order.

Douglas Cottage is located in the heart of Chester city centre which has a number of things to see and do to keep everyone busy. If you fancy browsing the high street stores the excellent shopping facilities offer something for everyone. Enjoy a relaxing meal or drink, take a walk and explore the fantastic eye-catching scenery. One of the most impressive attractions is the Rows, two-tier shopping galleries which date from the Middle Ages.
The Groves and the river Dee are just two minutes walk away, great for walks on the meadows and river cruises. Located just yards away are The famous Chester City Baths, one of the oldest public city baths in the Country, and Grosvenor Park with its miniature railway set in the beautiful park surroundings. Also nearby is the Roman amphitheatre.
On the banks of the River Dee is the Chester Racecourse, also known as The Roodee and sees many large race meetings throughout the year.
A visit to the Blue Planet Aquarium is a voyage of discovery that will provide amusement and entertainment for all ages.

Douglas Cottage has a superb central location within Chester City centre, few yards from all amenities and attractions eg shops, restaurants, Grosvernor Park, River Dee, Roman amphitheatre, famous rows etc. Therefore parking is by permit supplied at no extra cost ( guests must display the permit in the car windscreen )
