About the home

Casa Madeira is near golf courses and within walking distance of the charming village of Carvoeiro with its beautiful blue flag beaches, bars and restaurants. The contemporary villa has a private lawned garden with a beautiful decked pool, BBQ and sun terrace with 8 sun loungers to relax and soak up the sunshine. There is an upper drinks terrace with an outdoor fireplace, a great place to enjoy spectacular sunsets. The villa is very spacious and has a state of the art kitchen. The four individual bedroom suites each has it's own luxury bathroom (3 ensuite, 1 adjacent) and furnished terrace or patio perfect for when you may want a little privacy. The villa is ideal for large families, groups of friends or those seeking a romantic getaway. It is fully air conditioned and has underfloor/thermaskirt heating throughout.

Completed to a high specification in 2012, Casa Madeira is an award winning architect designed villa which offers year round luxury and comfort to guests. It has quality appliances, furnishings and linen throughout. Accommodation is arranged over two floors and communal areas are open plan. The main living area overlooks the pool and has a flat screen T.V. and comfortable leather suites. Wi-Fi and Satellite T.V. is available and there is a CD/DVD Player and iPod dock. There is also a chaise for relaxing and a formal dining area which seats 8 people. For those who enjoy cooking and entertaining, there is a dedicated wine fridge and state of the art kitchen with coffee machine and a granite island with hob. The island features a breakfast bar with gas lift stools for informal dining. The family BBQ is close by and situated near the pool and next to the alfresco dining area. Downstairs also has a separate laundry room with brand new appliances including a bosch steam generator iron. Beds are high quality hotel grade superking size with memory foam mattresses - similar to the well known UK hotel chain which guarantees you a good nights sleep! Each bedroom also has a flat screen T.V. and we can configure the beds to your individual requirements. 2 of the luxury bathrooms have baths/shower, 2 are wet-rooms.

At the heart of the villa is the fabulous decked pool (heating available) approached via the large paved sun terrace with space for the 8 available sun loungers. The terrace has a built in BBQ and alfresco dining area. There are gardens with lawn areas to the side and rear ideal for children to play. The pool looks stunning when lit at night and can be viewed from all the main living areas. The upstairs drinks terrace overlooks the pool and has magnificent views of the Monchique Mountains and distant views of the sea. It has a Moroccan style outdoor fire place and club lounge seating for 12 guests. During the day it is a lovely place to read and relax, maybe listen to music or just unwind and take in the lovely views. After dark It is the perfect place for a party. The villa is accessed through electronic gates and is fully alarmed, walled and fenced for your privacy and security. There is secure car parking for up to 4 cars.

We kindly ask guests not to smoke in the villa itself but do provide lots of facilities on the private patios, terraces and all outdoor areas.

For those looking to travel light, please note there is a hairdryer in each of the four bedrooms. We also provide a freshley laundered pool towel for each of our guests saving valuable luggage space.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve is in the southernmost region of Portugal and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe with 155 kilometres of breathtaking coastline. Holiday makers visit the Algarve for its lovely sunny climate, stunning blue flag beaches, wonderful cuisine and low travel costs. Renowned for it's world class golf facilities, the Algarve also has excellent watersports and tennis facilities. It is also popular with walkers and nature lovers being home to the Rio Formosa Lagoon Nature Reserve - a spectacular stopping place for hundreds of migrating birds The scenic Monchique mountain range is easily accessible by road and has it's own Spa town in Caldas de Monchique. The central Algarve has a number of heritage sites and has possibly the most stunning scenery of all, it's coastline is characterised by large sandy bays often flanked by tall cliffs and dotted with notable limestone caves and grottoes to explore. The Carvoeiro / Central Carvoeiro area

Carvoeiro is a picturesque former fishing village which is now a popular seaside destination. The resort manages to retain all of it's Portuguese charm while offering excellent tourist facilities. Amongst it's main attractions are it's lovely beaches and choice of many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. You can take a boat trip straight from the town beach to admire the local hidden coves, caves and grottoes from the sea. In high season, the main square next to the town beach holds regular open air concerts. Children are especially welcomed everywhere so Carvoeiro is an ideal place for a family holiday. Younger lively guests are also catered for though with many bars offering cocktails, live music and the boat nightclub which only gets going later on. The resort has banks, supermarkets and English, French, Dutch and German speaking doctors, dentists and pharmacy. Carvoeiro is centrally located with all the main attractions easily reached by regular organised excursions or just a short drive away if you have hired a car. Slide and Splash water park is popular with younger children and about 5 mins drive from the villa and the Big One waterpark is a 15 minute drive along the EN125. Another must see and popular with children and adults alike is the excellent sea life park, Zoo Marine, where you can even swim with dolphins. The Moorish town of Silves with it's castle and cathedral is not to be missed if you enjoy exploring rustic Portuguese cobbled streets offering a maze of traditional shops, excellent sea food restaurants and cafes. You can enjoy a leisurely piri piri chicken or sardine lunch perhaps with a glass of vinho verde in one of the local restaurants overlooking the Arade river (boat trips to Portimao also run from here). The Algarve caters for the serious shopper with modern shopping malls at Aqua Portimao (you are likely to see the famous pelicans as you cross the bridge) and Algarve Shopping an easy drive along the EN125 near Albufeira. Sports enthusiasts are very well catered for with excellent golf, tennis and horseriding facilities in or near the resort and deep sea fishing and dolphin watching excursions are readily available at Portimao. Carvoeiro is centrally located on the Algarve in Portugal. All main flight operators including the major budget airlines operate daily flights to Faro International Airport. The resort of Carvoeiro is approximately 40 minutes drive from Faro airport via the A2 motorway or EN125 Road. Direct transfers for guests from the airport can easily be arranged via the owners. Competitively priced car hire is also widely availabe from a number of reputable companies both at the airport and in resort and owners are happy to recommend. A shuttle bus service also operates from the airport to all main resorts during the peak season.

“Amazing.....” Amazing villa......very clean and modern with everything we needed including items you don't normally get like separate fridge for drinks, pool towels and even a selection of vases for flowers bought in the market at Silves! I'm still feeling relaxed from the amazing beds that were so comfortable. We all loved the terrace for a bit of solitude during the day and drinks in the late afternoon (a bit chilly in April for the evening). Wifi and TV meant the kids did not suffer any withdrawal symptoms. Amazing Carvoeiro...... has lots of good selection of restaurants and bars plus if you have a car lots of lovely walks long the cliffs and gorgeous beaches. Even the intermache supermarket is well stocked and very reasonable. Amazing service......Steve was great and very helpful. The welcome book had some great tips for days out and restaurants. The directions to the villa even included photos of relevant road signs and landmarks. Anna, the villa manager, and the cleaners were very friendly and helpful. You will have an amazing time!

“One word, Stunning!” The first part of this review is about the villa. It is fantastic. The layout and decor is first class. The pool area was perfect for us, we could lounge and sunbathe and keep a stress free eye on the kids, from around the pool and the sun terrace on top of the villa. Inside there is everything you could possibly need, all of which are quality appliances. There are books,boardgames and dvds and if thats not enough there is a wireless internet service.The town of Carvoeiro is a 15 minute walk away where there are lots of good restaurants and bars. Secondly, Steve and Angela can not do enough for you. The booking and payment was uncomplicated. They recommended a car hire company for me to use, gave me detailed directions to the villa, and called once during our stay to make sure everything was ok, also there is a villa manger, Anna, who is on hand in case there are any problems. Will definitlely be going back!
