This 4 Star Rated one bedroom holiday cottage dates from the 19th century when it served as the coach house and stables for the vicar of Aberyscir who lived in the Rectory. Situated on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park it is an ideal base to explore this exciting and dramatic landscape.The coach house has a stunning panaramic view of Pen-Y-Fan, highest peak in the Brecon Beacons and Pen-Y-Crug ,a fine example of an iron age fort.
Aberyscir is a small hamlet on the river Yscir, a tributary of the river Usk. From the cottage there are lovely walks up onto Aberyscir Common and for miles beyond. Brecon is the nearest town with shops, restaurants and in August The Brecon Jazz Festival. The famous book and literary festival town of Hay on Wye is just 17 miles away. The 2015 festival starts 22nd May and the coach house is an ideal base to combine literature and the Brecon Beacons.
The Coach House has a double bedroom, lounge/diner,full bathroom and a galley kitchen. A washing machine and dryer are available in the main house. The lounge has a wood burning stove, flat screen HD TV with HD freesat, DVD, iPod/CD/Radio and WI-FI. Safe storage for bicycles and drying room for wet clothes.
At the rear, a stable door leads onto your own private patio area with table chairs and a barbecue.
Welcome hamper including eggs and wine. Bedlinen, towels, logs, electricity and oil included.
Sorry no pets and there is a strictly no smoking policy in the cottage.

The Powys/Brecon Beacons region
Brecon Beacons National Park set in south Wales is an area of outstanding natural beauty. It offers all levels of activity for walkers climbers bikers and lovers of birds animals and nature. It was recently granted 'Dark Sky Reserve' status due the quality of it's night sky for star gazing. In addition, for those more interested in the history of the region there are many examples of the Iron age, Romans, medieval castles, churches and industrial heritage.
Brecon is a good base to explore the Brecon Beacons and has a beautiful Cathedral and two museums, one for The Welsh Borderer's made famous at Rouke's Drift in the film Zulu. There are shops, cafes and restaurants catering to many tastes and budgets. In August the famous Jazz Festival takes place together with a growing 'fringe festival' in the pubs.
From the cottage can be seen remains of an iron age fort, Roman road and drovers green tracks.
All of the park's attractions are within an easy drive and the local busses are able to return you to the car after a long walk!
