About the home

Casa das Figueiras has a superb private 10 by 5 metre pool, securely fenced to ensure the safety of young children. There is one double bedroom with en suite and air conditioning and two twin bedrooms with fans, there is a family bathroom and additional shower so ideal for families or couples.

The high-ceilings and exposed wooden beams of the open-plan living area add a cosy feel as does the log-fire - perfect for colder seasons. Air-con is also available in the main living area. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need for your stay including a dishwasher, microwave, juicer and halogen hob with electric oven. A welcome pack with essential groceries can be arranged for a small fee.

French doors open out onto several terraced areas overlooking the beautiful mature garden, one area has wooden furniture, another with stone seats and a BBQ for you to enjoy alfresco dining, sunbathe on the loungers by the pool or sit and enjoy a drink watching the stunning sunset.

Casa das Figueiras is located idyllically on a hillside with coast and country views, along a country lane only 2km from Boliqueime village with its shops, bank, pharmacy, bars and restaurants for eating out. The villa is peaceful and relaxing, away from it all, yet only ten minutes drive to wonderful beaches, and Vilamoura with a marina, casino, 4 golf courses and all the pleasures of a top resort.

You will be met by the villa manager and shown around the property, he will be available throughout your stay should you have any need. Maid service twice weekly, towels and bedding included. Laundry room with washing machine available for personal use.

Pets are welcome, food and water bowls available upon request.

The open-plan living room has exposed wooden beams and an attractive farmhouse wood burning closed in fire. There is a dining table for 6 people, comfortable sofas and a number of original paintings on the walls to give a cosy home from home feel.

Air conditioning in the living area and master bedroom, plus electric fans elsewhere make the house very cool in the hottest months.

All modern conveniences Satellite TV, DVD, CD player and radio are at hand. A varied selection of books are there if you wish to catch up on some reading. A very large fig tree outside makes a perfect spot to do this.

The well-equipped kitchen has all the essential items you should need during your stay including a dishwasher, halogen hob, electric oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and juicer.

All the bedrooms have pretty hand painted furniture in Algarvian style and plenty of storage space. There is a family bathroom, one en suite in the master bedroom and one ensuite shower room in a twin bedroom. An outside laundry room is available for your convenience.

Further details outdoors:
Beautiful country views from the terrace and pool area with the sea in the distance - stunning sunsets. Outside, one terrace area is cool and shady, but one another is a sun worshippers' paradise. The attractive garden has jasmine, bougainvillea and roses, a lemon tree and figs.

Strategic garden lighting enhances the whole area in the evening when sitting or having a barbecue on one of the several terrace areas, all equipped with appropriate furniture and cushions. The garden is totally screened from the lane by a wall and tall shrubs so is secluded.

The private pool is large with steps leading in to the shallow end with grab rails, the deep end is approx. 2.5 metres. The pool is fenced so is ideal for families.

There is private parking to the side of the villa.

Conditions

A non returnable deposit of 30% is required when booking with balance payable a month before holiday.

Pets allowed by prior arrangement.

Main bedroom

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

Boliqueime is in central Algarve approx. 25 minute drive from Faro airport. The climate is very mild in Winter and hot in Summer, but generally there is a pleasant breeze to temper the heat.

Places to visit include Faro (with an old walled city ), Loule 15 minute drive which has a delightful market each Saturday morning,Vilamoura 10 minute drive one of Europe's largest holiday complexes with golf courses casino, marina, boating. Estoi with Roman ruins.

The Boliqueime / Malhadais area

Malhadais where Casa das Figueiras is situated, is on the outskirts of Boliqueime, and the village is a pretty 15 minute walk, though we do advise clients that a car is essential for getting around.

In the village a beautiful church dominates the main street, but all that is needed for a holiday can be found here including bank, pharmacy, small supermarket, patisserie, butcher, fishmonger bars and delightful restaurants for eating out.

Now and again a small market comes and traders set up shop in the main street.

A short 10/15 minute drive and you have some of the loveliest beaches in Europe. Children adore exploring the rock pools in Olhos D'Agua or the splendid stretches of Falesia beach.

Water parks are in easy reach, and so too a Dolphinarium.

The nearest airport is Faro, which is 28 km from villa,and just 25 minutes by car. Cheap regular flights from Gatwick to Faro available on-line from Easyjet, Thomas Cook, Monarch and other UK airports.

Car hire from airport can be organised on line from Easyjet cars, Hertz, Budget cars. Or car can be delivered to villa by arrangement. Plentiful taxis available at airport, fare to villa approx €40.

The villa is easily reached by motorway or major road EN125. Printed detailed directions to villa supplied on confirmation of booking.
