The owners of this apartment are wonderfully helpful, and the apartment is in a perfect spot. The rooms are large and the views fantastic. The only very minor problems were the oven takes forever to cook anything and as we were there very early in the year there was not enough heating in the lounge (both bedrooms have air con and heating). I would like to reccommend this wonderfull apartment in Taormina. The interior is top quality and style. A lot of space for a family of 5 (teenage children). The location is perfect -2 minutes walking to the main street of this lovely town. The owner, Paola, was extremely friendly - waited for us in the apartment and escorted me to the parking and back to the apartment. A Pearl in the hills over the Ionian Sea (Sicily)

We spent 2 weeks at this delightful specialty guest house in the hills above the beautiful Ionian Sea. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family by Debora and Salvo and their beautiful daughter, Irene. GPS will get you to the corner nearest the house, but the GPS said turn left where no left was possible, so we continued a bit and wound up at a gas station just down the road. We called Debora on her cell phone and Salvo came in a few minutes and showed us how to get to the house. We were greeted with smiling faces and immediately shown around the property. There are two nicely renovated apartments; “Luna” and “Sol”. A third apartment is under construction. We got “Luna”. When we entered the apartment, there was a delightful assortment of homemade and home grown things for us on the kitchen table. Wine made by Salvo, Peppers, Tomatoes and Eggplant grown by Salvo and some fresh eggs laid by Salvo's chickens. The apartment was beautiful, clean, quiet and functional. It has a nice kitchenette with stove and cooktop, fridge and freezer and all the necessary pots, pans, dishes, etc. Salvo took us for a tour of the outside including the amazing garden. We picked figs off the trees and ate them still warm from the Sun. What a treat! Debora speaks English quite well. Salvo does pretty good too. Both of them are happy to help plan an itinerary for you and provide directions and recommendations when asked. Debora even made us dinner one night. On the menu was Eggplant Parmesan. Delicious, thanks Debora! Another night, Salvo knocked on the door and offered a taste of the Lemon Liquor he made. The house is located about 10km north of Taormina. This puts you within a stone’s throw of the A18 Autostrada which takes you all along the Southeast shore from Messina to Catania. There is plenty of local shopping for food and other necessities. In the neighboring towns, there are many quaint restaurants and Bars. Some are better than others, of course. Don't miss the town of Savoca where scenes from Godfather I were shot. We had dinner there at Bar Vitelo. Quite a treat. We took excursions each day. We visited Mt Etna and Stromboli Island which are both active volcanos. Etna requires driving part way up the mountain then a cable car ride up some more and finally a Giant Jeep ride to the top. You get to rent a down coat before the final ascent because it is COLD up there. Stromboli was part of a Mini Cruise to the Aeolian Islands This volcano has eruptions several times an hour. The cruise boat lingers after sunset so you can see the fire shooting out the top. There is so much to see. There are Ruins, Churches, Museums, Gardens to fill your days and plenty of nice places to eat lunch and dinner. This is a delightful destination. Making Borgo Borghese your home base while you are here is a great way to top it all off. Sicily is deceivingly large with lots to do. Plan to spend some time with Debora and Salvo. Superb place to stay

Fabulous views over the sea to the north. Situated just 50m from the entrance to the old town. The appartment is spacious, modern, tasteful and just a few steps up from an excellent shared infinity pool. Would highly recommend. Taormina is a great place to enjoy the dolce vita! Only downside is that the rendezvous with the owner is a stressful experience because there is no parking on the road near the apartment. I would park in the municipal out of town, get the bus into town, buy a drink at a cafe and get the owners to meet you there with the key. … see more
Spacious 2 bedroom apartment (Simeto) with pool and terrace
A little piece of heaven

The apartment was perfect, comfortable and well kitted out. Great facilities on site for children, pool, games, barbeque facilities, free Wi-Fi. But the most spectacular thing about the Lemon tree is the location and the views. It is completely private and quiet (although up a very steep hill drive so a car is essential) with the most spectacular views of the sea, Taormina, Giardini Naxos, Castelmola and Mount Etna at the back. Our terrace was enormous and gave us views all around and sun and shade all the time so you could choose. Although there are 8 apartments, we felt like we had a private villa as most people are out and about in the day. We had the pool to ourselves most of the time. Nothing was a problem here, service excellent, We arrived late at night and they had bread, milk, cheese and some meats in our fridge incase we needed a meal.
