“A wonderful place to stay with the opportunity to meet a Cretan family who are so generous and hospitable” We have been staying at Villa Aphroditi every year since 2003. Returning is like coming to a second home with the chance to meet the Sofoulaki family again. Their generosity and hospitality over the years has been outstanding such that we have come to feel part of an extended family. Dimetri and Roula are such excellence hosts as are their children Stella and George, both of whom we have seen get married and now who have children of their own. This villa is in a really private location yet only 5 minutes from the local village of Prines where Dimetri and Roula live. The villa is spacious, extremely well appointed and surrounded by extensive grounds which include a large freestanding BBQ and separate Pizza oven.There is also a table tennis table and of course a wonderful swimming pool where the water is often still so warm even late at night. This year has seen all new loungers and parasols and Dimetri will come every day at sunrise to clean the pool and surrounding area while Roula will clean and change bedding and towels twice in a week. I should also mention the local taverna in Prines where Yannis will serve up some food with great service. If you have never been to this villa and met this family i would recommend the experience to you without reservation!!

“all 10 of us had a great time!” Hello from rainy London! would really like to thank you for your hospitality over the couple of weeks of our stay in your house! I would definitely recommend this place for any big group of friends. We are actually very good friends in our late twenties but never had the extra bit of cash or skill to sync the ten of us (!!) to take some time off together. We all initially had a -secret- fear that we wouldn't be able to get along under the same roof for such a long time. However, that all went away once we saw this beautiful spacious villa in which we could all fit and even get to have our favorite private ''DO NOT DISTURB'' spots. It proved to be not only ideal for having a nice chill out time altogether in the huge green verandas that surround the villa but also a perfect place for isolation, contemplation or work when some of us had left back some unfinished work...! It was awesome that we could have unlimited access to Wi-Fi internet. This was quite surreal, as we were in a medieval village full of countryside sounds coming from the hill opposite the village (morning cockcrow, night owl, sheep bell sounds)! Creating such a relaxing and soothing ambience at different times of the day. After waking up each day the adventure would start by finding the next beach or site the Kallergi family had suggested us to visit. But even on those lazy days that no one wanted to do anything because of the heat, villa Kallergi remained so cool partly because of the 'cave' way it has been built and due to the presence of air-condition in each and every room of the house. After a short walk to the village alleys we got back to the house and a delicious surprise was waiting for us all home made greek food by Mrs Athena Kallergi ! I hope you will be lucky too! Needless to say, it was our best time ever that combined fun, relaxation and catching up with each other. And all that without spending more than £17 per person each day for our stay in such a luxury!
