17a Grape Lane is a grade 2 listed building - in its day a bank, a seamans’ hospital, and even home to the Whitby photographic archive. Today it’s a luxurious self-catering holiday apartment set out over two floors. With large reception rooms and two generous bedrooms, two bathrooms and a downstairs toilet and fantastic harbour views, you’ll have space to really relax and enjoy your stay.

Getting around

Once you're in Whitby, it's easy to move around the town itself without a car. The town is well served with buses and taxis, and of course the train station (although services are limited). If you're lucky, the steam train will be running! There's also an open bus tour, great for taking it all in without having to do the driving yourself!

Interaction with guest

In the week prior to your arrival date, you'll receive a little package from us containing directions, information about parking, and arrival and departure time confirmation. It will also include a set of keys so that you can let yourselves in after the given arrival time, without any hassle. During your stay, if you need any assistance, we're just a phone call away. And at the end of your stay, you simply pop the keys back through the letterbox - it couldn't be easier!

“The perfect home in the most perfect location”

This home had everything you could possible need for an amazing holiday, weekend or longer. The photographs don’t do it justice. From booking to arriving was so easy! All the attractions of Whitby are on the doorstep, the Abbey, cafes, restaurants. There are so many places to walk. Perfect!!!!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Emma (the owner) a message.

If Emma (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
