Description

Enjoy a relaxing and peaceful short break/holiday within the fishing village of Whitby and its surrounding areas.

The three storey cottage sleeps a maximum of 7 people - one double bedroom, one twin room, one double sofa bed in the first floor lounge, a single room on the first floor plus an infant cot if required.

The ground floor comprises a large, modern, open plan kitchen and dining area with french doors onto the patio area, communal lawns and a cloakroom/wc.

The large first floor lounge enjoys french doors and a balcony overlooking the River Esk, a bathroom with shower and the single bedroom. The second floor has the master double bedroom, a further twin bedded room and a second bathroom.

We also offer high speed Wi-Fi connectivity together with Satellite TV including sports channels.

“Riverdide Walk, whitby”

Lovely peaceful location. Accommodation was excellent and spotless. Would thoroughly recommend as a getaway for a family or friends

“Lovely house, beautiful setting”

Very well equipped, lovely house with ample room in a beautiful setting, highly recommend for an enjoyable stay. The owner provide great communication and is very organised.

Had an absolutely amazing Christmas at the cottage , roomy beautiful Home from home in a brilliant location everything we needed were catered for and thoughtful gifts from the owner were superb will definitely be booking again

“Home from home”

I can’t express enough how amazing Kauri Cottage was, it had everything we needed and more, only thing you need to take is towels, it was decorated beautifully and was happily surprised with all the Xmas decorations, what a lovely touch. The cottage is situated right next to the river with gorgeous views, 20 mins walk into Whitby but even in the cold it was a lovely stroll. I can’t wait to book again but maybe in the summer so I can make use of that lovely balcony.

“Great Cottage in a beautiful setting”

Kauri Cottage is a very nice cottage in a lovely tranquil setting. The cottage is very well equipped with everything your could need. We are a mixed group of friends, male and female, and there was plenty of room in the cottage for us all to spread and chill out if we needed to. We had a lovely walk to Robin Hoods Bay along the old rail track and then along the cliff path. Barbara, the owner, is very approachable and helpful. 2 of the guys met her face to face on arrival and said "she was smashing". We would certainly like to go back and would love to go in warmer weather to take advantage of the patio, balcony and seating by the river..

“Weekend away”

I was really surprised when we got to Kauri cottage as I feel the photos don't do it justice. It was much bigger than expected!! The ground floor was such a lovely area and the kitchen had everything we needed! The first floor again was a surprise as the living room was bigger than we thought. We had 6 adults stay for 2 nights at at no point did we feel squashed or cramped! Plus nobody had to sit on the floor!! Added bonuses for us was having 3 toilets! The owner did mention a leak prior to our stay but it did not effect our stay at all!! The beds were all comfy and everyone had a good sleep. The view from the balcony was fantastic but sadly we missed the train going over the viaduct!! We used a taxi to get to Whitby which cost us approx £10. We would recommend to anyone wanting to stay at Kauri cottage!!

We had a great weekend away. Easy access to Whitby. Approx £6 in a taxi. In a very peaceful setting.

Had a fab time at Kauri Cottage in a lovely location right on the side of the River Esk it was clean and tidy and had everything needed for a self catering holiday would not hesitate to book again

“Comfortable accommodation”

We enjoyed our stay at Kauri cottage. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and well equipped. Barbara was quick to reply to our query about accommodating another person in our party - all good as the property has three bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge too. There are lovely views of the river and steam train from the cottage. Thank you

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Barbara (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
