From the owner

Situated in one of the oldest barrios of the pretty, historic village of Valor the apartment is a tranquil haven in Las Alpujarras. It has been renovated retaining original rustic features - stone walls and chestnut beams -but with all the comforts of modern convenience - hydro-shower and fitted kitchen.

La Casa Francesa has a large private terrace with stunning views to the Mediterranean and is located within the Sierra Nevada National Park. The area is ideal for walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers or those who simply want to relax and enjoy the views.

We have a swimming pool with shaded and sunny areas, open in the summer months, which is for the use of Casa Francesa guests and is shared only with the owners. We are growing vines for our own wine and keep chickens for fantastic fresh eggs.

Valor is famous throughout Spain as the place where the final battles between the Moors and Christians were fought; these are re-enacted every September during our Fiesta along with lots of amazing fireworks, dancing in the square and a night-time procession through the village with the men carrying the patron saint aloft.

We are in the province of Granada and a visit there is a must to see the Alhambra Palace and it´s gardens. The Sierra Nevada ski resort is close by too.

We are only 30 minutes from Puerto de la Ragua which has snow for many months of the year and offers a variety of activities from Cross Country Skiing and Husky Rides in the winter to fantastic walks for the summer - when the cooler air can be a pleasant respite from the Spanish summer.

Closer to Valor there are prize-winning bodegas where a tour is followed by a long tasting of their produce - always a favourite with our guests.

Making the most of the garden and pool, enjoying tapas in the local bars and entering into the spirit of village life at our Pride event in the church square. I know you enjoyed your trip to Granada too but it’s great when our guests just love spending time here, making the most of the weather, watching the Goss Hawks fly over the pool and cooking your fresh seafood to eat on the terrace after a long day of reading by the pool..... How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Miss (the owner) a message.

If Miss (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
