Almería
Discover one of the most unique deserts of the world: The desert of Tabernas
The area is said to be the driest in Europe; the inland areas of the province experience some 3000 hours of sun each year; an area where no vegetation grows in desert-like landscape.
Sergio Leone must have had the same impression like me, when he arrived in Almeria in 1964, because he decided to shoot his Clint Eastwood movies of the 'Spaghetti-Western' genre here. I am not kidding! Westerns, such as 'A Fistful of Dollars', 'For a few dollars more', the Good the Bad and the ugly, were all filmed here (not in Arizona!). Typical Western towns were built , which you can still visit today and which are typical representations of the conquest of the American Wild West: 'Studios Fort Bravo', Oasys Theme Park and Western Leone.

Córdoba
The mosque-cathedral of Córdoba is a one of the most beautiful examples of Muslim art in Spain. It was built in 785. After the Christian conquest in 1523, the cathedral was built inside, and features highlights such as the main altarpiece, the Baroque altarpiece and the mahogany choir stalls. The province of Cordoba produces some of Andalusia's finest olive oil, which is one of the root ingredients for most, in fact all of Andalusia's cuisine. Specialities include the famous cold soups of Gazpacho and Salmorejo; some of the best Jamon (ham) is found in the province of Cordoba, and Salchichon (a type of sausage) and
Morcilla (black pudding) are both typical of the area. The local produced wines from Cordoba are similar to those of the Sherry from Jerez. The region produces a 'fino', which is similar to dry sherry; Pedro Ximenez is the main production for the regional wines.

Gibraltar
A corner of England in Southern-most Spain. With only 6.8km2 of area, Gibraltar offers a surprising quantity of things to see and do. Tax free shopping, a trip up the rock, the siege tunnels, St Michael's cave and, of course, seeing Gibraltar's most famous inhabitants, the barbary apes.

Granada
The city of Granada is characterised by architectural splendour, a rich cultural heritage and its stunning backdrop of the Sierra Nevada. The most famous landmark in Granada is the 14th century ALHAMBRA Palace, one of the most revered examples of Islamic architecture in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Málaga
The largest city on the Costa del Sol, Málaga has a typical Mediterranean climate and is also known as the birthplace of famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso and famous Spanish actor Antonio Banderas. Málaga is one of the oldest cities in the World with close to 3000 years of history. The city offers beaches, hiking, architectural sites, art museums, excellent shopping and cuisine. Málaga offers some genuinely interesting historical and cultural attractions in its old city and its setting on the coast is still beautiful.
Many bars and discos in Málaga offer free Salsa classes, such as The Sound in the centre and The Swan in the trendy suburb town of Pedregalejo.
The marina is well worth visiting called Muelle 1. It's ideal place to stop for a bite to eat in one of its restaurants or to visit one of its many shops. The new outside centre of the Centre of Pompidou, Paris is also located at Muelle 1 in the location called The Cube.

Marbella
Nikki beach. Situated just a five min. drive from Costabella in nearby Elviria. Nikki beach is one of the Costa del Sol's most exclusive beach clubs. Home to the rich and famous and those who wish they were. Amenities: Everything - but it's going to cost you!! Nikki beach is not cheap. Renting sun-loungers can cost you 300€ a day. If lounging by the beach sipping champagne, while World famous DJs, go-go dancers, fire-throwers, acrobats and much, much more all perform for you… Marbella has lot more to offer: Beautiful old town, pedestrian zone.
The fishing port is one of the best places to eat fresh fish dishes on the Costa del Sol. East entrance of Marbella, right in front of the big "Blue Glass" building, Marina Marbella. Turn right coming out of Marbella at the Titanic roundabout. It is, however, an authentic dining experience with delicious fresh fish. All of the restaurants Los Cañizos, La Relojera, El Varadero and Puerto Playa offer “Sardinas al Espeto”, sardines grilled over an open fire. Ask for the daily special!

Mijas Pueblo (5 min. drive from villa)
A charming village of Moorish origin that is characterized by whitewashed houses and flowered balconies. The village offers spectacular views of the coast, plenty of bars and restaurants and the famed "Burro-taxis," (donkey taxis). Chocolate museum (create your own choclate bar), Max's wagon: a collection of miniatures that includes a reduced human head.
Handmade pottery and finest leather collection.

Nerja Caves
Nerja has a great amount of attractions for all kinds of tourists, from those who like to wander around its natural landscapes, enjoying the monuments and architecture, to those seeking the best beaches to sunbathe and enjoy the Mediterranean. Nerja caves, situated near Maro, it's one of the most important touristic interests in Malaga province. It has public and restricted accesses, with an estimated date of about 42.000 years ago.

Puerto Banús (Marbella)
Puerto Banús is an oasis of luxury. Where celebrities from all over the world spend their holidays and where many internationally famous actors like Sean Connery have bought a second home. This well-known residential area is located a short distance from Marbella and offers high quality services, many shopping boutiques and a beautiful marina.

Ronda
Ronda is located approximately 50 km south-west of Malaga and 30 km from Marbella. It is steeped in history and culture. Celts, Phoenicians, Romans and Muslims have all left their mark. Ronda is located in one of the most privileged locations in Andalucia, perched on a cliff overlooking the surrounding countryside.
The Ascari Race Resort offers an impressive closed circuit where you can enjoy the speed in its purest form, without limits but always with a maximum safety. With 26 corners (13 left hand and 13 right hand corners) and incredible cambers and slopes, the Ascari circuit proud to be the longest track in Spain thanks to its length, the asphalt pavement gives a perfect balance between grip and tire wear as well as being an excellent drainage. Drive high-end vehicles such as lotus, BMW, Radical, F3, F1, ect. With a possibility of buggies and karts. You can also bring your own vehicle to experience the circuit with a reliable car like yours.

Tarifa
Whatch orcas at the strait of Gibraltar or just enjoy the greatest surf spot in Spain. A great day trip to remember. Hang loose and relax at white beaches watching hugh waves whilst sipping a Sangria.

Torremuelle

Benalmádena is a municipality of the province of Málaga consisting of three main urban areas; Benalmádena Pueblo, Benalmádena Costa and Arroyo de la Miel. The city of Malaga is about 12 km to the west with Marbella 42 km to the East. The area has grown rapidly in recent decades due to tourism and has become one of the Costa del Sol's prime locations.

Benalmádena Costa is home to the majority of the areas attractions, the foremost of which is probably the golden sandy beaches, which run off into the Mediterranean Sea. There are restaurants and bars to suit all types and tastes and the area retains a relaxed friendly atmosphere all year around.

Benalmádena Pueblo is a charming village of Moorish origin that is characterized by whitewashed houses and flowered balconies. Many great, Spanish restaurants and bars are located in this town. The village still retains the Benalmadena town hall and mayoral office. The pueblo sits on a hillside, 280 meters above sea level with marvellous views across Málaga bay. Over the years developers have moved up the hillside from the coast, but the pueblo has still managed to retain its character as a typical Andalucian village.

Puerto Marina Benalmádena
is one of the best port and residential complexes in the world, with a very attractive architecture, built 1987. The port has a huge calendar of events. Puerto marina has been named the best Marina in the world in up to two occasions (in 1995 and 1997), an honour that is awarded by specialised international magazines. The port also has bars, restaurants, a shopping centre and shops (open until 11pm in summer) all along its interior promenade that takes us from one extreme of the port to the other. There is also a large public parking lot at reasonable prices. Take a trip on a pirate boat at sunset or take a boat to Málaga and come back by train. How about visiting the Sea life, which is also located in that complex?

There are two World-class restaurants less than 10 minutes by taxi and these are El Higueron with its excellent Asturian and Andalusian dishes and the famous Valparaiso with its live music and opera singers. The Valparaiso has many famous guests including Sean Connery, Sir Bruce Forsyth and David & Victoria Beckham who are regular diners here. In the village is the long-established Casa Manolo restaurant with excellent seafood and delicious 'pinchitos' (barbecued meat skewers) and you can dine in the shade of the palm trees in the square in which this delightful, traditional restaurant is set.
The local beaches are sandy and Carvajal beach also features its own tarmac car park so you don't have to cross main roads to access the beach. The beach restaurant, El Kalifato, has superb paella and its own secret recipe Sangria - probably the best in Andalusia!

With such a wide and varied array of activities and things to do any visitor will be hard pressed to find a moment of boredom when visiting Benalmádena, a town which is truly more than just a resort.
