Nerja holidays

Nerja, at the eastern tip of the Costa del Sol, is perfect for anyone seeking a relaxing resort town that hasn’t been overwhelmed by high-rises and hotels. Nerja has every convenience and over ten kilometres of exceptional beaches, complete with palm trees and bright blue sea. Whether you want to try your hand at watersports, explore local caves or just bask in the sun, you can find your ideal rental with Holiday Lettings.

Your holiday starts as soon as you begin choosing an apartment in Nerja: would you like easy beach access? A private sun terrace? An apartment with a pool? If you want something truly unusual, you can even book an apartment with a guitar-shaped pool. Self-catering apartments in Nerja are also a great choice, particularly for families.

Mediterranean relaxation

Nerja has a stunning Mediterranean coastline, and there’s so much of it that you’ll want to pick out the best beaches before your plane lands. If you value convenience, none are easier to find than Calahonda—it’s in Nerja’s town centre. This small, picturesque beach is surrounded by cliffs, and there’s no direct access to cars, so you’d never know you’re just metres away from all the shops and restaurants you could want.

Nerja’s main tourist beach, Burriana, is considerably larger and ideal for families—a huge stretch of soft sand lined by palm trees and watched carefully by lifeguards. Burriana has earned Blue Flag status, meaning its water quality and safety are among the best in the world.

Unusual attractions

Off the beach, Nerja has some fascinating attractions for the intrepid explorer. The Nerja Caves are a vast cave system almost five kilometres long, containing dozens of prehistoric cave paintings and the world’s largest stalagmite. It was discovered accidentally by a group of children in 1959!

The Eagle Aqueduct is a more recent attraction. This stunning, four-storey aqueduct was first built in the 19th century and is still used today. You can walk to the aqueduct from nearby Maro. In fact, the whole area is excellent for hiking.
