Winner of numerous awards including Best Place to Stay in Wales

Winner of Visit Wales Best Visitor Welcome

Winner of Best Hospitality Travel and Tourism Business

-a picture postcard pretty 18th century stone cottage totally refurbished to provide a delicious holiday home.

The cottage opened to its first guests in November 2009, immediately gained its 5 star rating, and went on to be judged the Best Place to Stay in Wales at the 2010 Visit Wales National Tourism Awards

We have a Trip Advisor Excellence award thanks to the kind reviews of our guests!

We offer 3 and 4 night short breaks January to Easter and October to Christmas and 7 night stays or longer all year round. If you can see a space in our availability chart but not a price or you would like a short break in summer please ask!

It is directly across the road (but set well back from the road, double glazed and thickly walled , so not noisy) from Tintern Abbey of which it has the most fantastic panoramic views. In the heart of ancient Tintern vllage it also has the advantage of being in walking distance of pubs , hotels ,eateries cafes and several wedding venues including the Church. The Wye Valley Walk is from the doorstep and you can see Offas Dyke from the windows. The AngidyTrail is also from the doorstep so you hardly need a car. . Since opening bookings have included golfers, honeymoons, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 80th and 90th birthdays (!) , several weddings and a moonlit proposal , some small business meetings as well as couples and families looking to relax- so we can safely say its great for romantic couples, wedding guests, small business meetings - as well as for family holidays!

We offer mostly Friday and Saturday start days in summer but in the winter months we also offer 7 nights starting on Fridays and Mondays and short breaks Friday to Monday and Monday to Friday. Because these patterns enable us to sell to most people most easily our best rates are attached to them -but we will always quote for something different. Please ask!

We welcome well behaved pets and even have a bowl and spare lead in case you forgot yours. There is brilliant walking right from the doorstep. The back garden is well fenced . Pets are welcome in the front garden but should be on a lead as it is unfenced as we are in a conservation area and to maximise the amazing Abbey View.

We have a visiting pamper therapist who can offer relaxing treatments from manicure to aromatherapy and a hairdresser whi can do cuts for ladies and gentlemen, colouring or perming- both will come to you on site by appointment.

Groceries can be delivered to the doorstep by several supermarkets groups and a chef can supply meals to the cottage or even come and cook on site for a special gathering.

The cottage sleeps up to 6 people.

There are three bedrooms each of which can be configured to suit your needs. Each has a 6ft wide superking double bed- or we can supply a pair of 3ft twin beds in each room.

Each bedroom also has a flatscreen TV, ipod dock, clock radio , hot water bottle and hairdryer.

We have a travel cot ( and high chair and baby gate ) and numerous other small nursery items for your baby all available free of charge.

There are two new sparkling bathrooms. The family bathroom upstairs offers a wonderful Abbey View from the tub! It has a whirlpool bath and a shower ( plus WC , washbasin , heated tower rail and shaver socket of course) , the other bathroom is ensuite to the downstairs bedroom and has a dinnerplate headed shower over the bathtub, plus a wc, washbasin, shaver socket and heated towel rail.

The kitchen is very fully equipped with large range cooker ( 3 ovens and grill) , microwave, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, kettle toaster and plenty of pots pans, crockery cutlery and glasses..

The comfortable sitting room has squishy leather sofas, a cosy woodburner, 37" flatscreen TV, DVD player.

We have broadband WiFi internet access for those who need Facebook on holiday so bring your devices..

Outside we have a large front garden sweeping down towards the Abbey, the back garden is fully fenced for the security of your pets and children and offers a sun trap terrace with furniture for outdoor meals.

The front garden has a peaceful spot for gazing at the ancient Abbey- especially beautiful when lit at night.

We have gated, private off road parking for three cars easily or four at a push and an EV car charger private to you and operated with your credit card.

We have a lockable cycle shed for 4 mountain bikes and excellent off road and on road cycling..

If you would like to know anything more about our facilites or equipment before you book please just ask us we are always happy to help.
