“Cosy, quiet cottage with very easy access to Skipton amenities”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2017

This holiday cottage has everything needed for two people. The bed is comfy, the kitchen well equipped and excellent shower. Short walk into Skipton for shops and restaurants and the canal for walking.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and exploring Skipton

“Lovely cottage as a wonderful holiday home”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2017

The Thisledo Holiday cottage is cosy, clean and fully equipped with all the amenities that one could wish for in a holiday accommodation. It is very conveniently situated (5 minutes on foot to the town centre, 10 minutes to the train station). The perfect base for pleasant days of walking in the Yorkshire Dales and the Bronte country.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your excellent review. We're glad that you enjoyed your stay and walking in the Dales & surrounding countryside.

“This Certainly Will Do”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2017

This is our second time at Thisledo and we love it. The location is great: near enough to town to be local but not so near as to be overly busy. The coffee shop (newly expanded) is a treat and only about five steps away (if we were allowed to go in the back door!). There seemed to be new carpets and they look good. A new, large, TV with added functions was welcome, too. It was great to hear an owl on a few of the nights! As vegetarians, we were pleased to see that The Castle Inn now had a vegan menu. We went twice!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. You sound to have had a great time. I'll have a word with the Coffee Shop and see if they'll give you a key to their back door! Hope to see you again next year.

“Perfect haven for relaxation”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2017

Skipton, a delightful tourist town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is a 5 minute walk from the holiday property. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you could need...and more, including dog biscuits, a freezer, a clothes dryer and a comprehensive collection of cleaning items. Set back from the main road, its peaceful, cosy, quiet and relaxing, and deceptively spacious ,but not suited to those with disabilities, (steep stairs to the upper floor) nor for people unwilling to walk for three minutes from nearby parking. Its a perfect base from which to explore the local attractions, including Harrogate, Knaresborough, Malham Cove, Settle, Grassington, etc., and enjoy hiking/biking. The T.V. died during my stay, but was replaced with a new one, within a day and a half of its demise. The only thing missing was a dog! Yes...its dog friendly. I would stay here again. Home from home...but better kitted out!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the cottage and the Yorkshire Dales.

“Nice Cottage”

Reviewed 1 Mar 2014

Spent a week here in rainy February with my wife and dogs and we loved it. Only five minutes walk into town down the main road or five minutes to Morrisons Supermarket over the canal. Kitchen well equipped but small. The washing machine came in handy since some of the walks we did where rather muddy. A tumble dryer and freezer was located in a out building through a small but secure back yard. Large bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space and a comfy bed. Even though it was at the front of the cottage we heard no traffic noise. Stairs to the 1st level are steep but caused us no problems. The only down side was the large bathroom, it only had a small bath with no proper shower. Even though it was cold in February the cottage was warm, we even had to turn the heating down. Overall a nice cottage which we would recommend, and it certain did.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay, despite the weather.A full bathroom refurbishment is planned for March 2014 including the installation of a shower.Updated bathroom photos will be put on our website and Holiday Lettings once the refurbishment is completed.
