The East Anglia region

Norfolk County is beautiful - home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Relax on Sheringham beach (2 mins walk) or visit another stunning, wide beach including Brancaster, Wells or Holkham. Take the steam train to Holt market town. Norfolk County and coastline also has much to offer all ages and interests - golf (Sheringham Golf Course); Bewilderwood – family fun/adventure; Dinosaur Adventure Park; Hunstanton Sea Life Centre; Norwich RAF museum; Thursford Steam Train; Art Galleries, historical Norwich city (a short train ride); Amazona Zoo; Pettits Adventure Park; Crabbing at Wells-next-the-Sea; Seal Trips at Blakeney; and many, many other places to visit including gardens, museums and all the little coastal villages.

Sheringham

The beach is so close to the house that you can just park your car and enjoy all the activities which are within walking distance, especially if you have smaller children. You can gamble at the arcade or go crabbing on the rocks. You can walk westwards or eastwards along the coast and find pubs to enjoy lunch. The local swimming pool has a wave machine and slide. Sheringham is a very happy town with a busy local community and lots going on, including a carnival, the Little Theatre hosting great shows and lots of lovely little shops, including antiques and curios and a fish shop, butchers, delicatessen and local supermarket 2 minutes away for all your needs. Also several cafes and restaurants including The Funky Mackerel on the seafront which serves great coffee and flapjack and a Thai restaurant and lovely pubs which serve childrens meals. For more information please read the extensive Tourist Information folder provided in the house and any local information that comes through the door while you are there. There is also a Tourist Information Centre a very short walk away at Sheringham Station.

Exciting house to explore, especially for the kids. Everything you need is there for a break. Only problem is having to vacate by 10am,11am more realistic when 12 of you.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a positive review of your stay at Lavender House and I'm so pleased that you all enjoyed the birthday celebrations. Thank you also for your feedback on the check out time. We would always try to offer flexibility where guests request a later check out time, particularly when there are no new guests immediately due to check in on the same day. However, as I am sure you can appreciate, Lavender House is a huge house to clean in between bookings, taking a minimum of eight hours and we do need the time to get everything ready and perfect for the next set of guests. I do hope that we can welcome you back to Sheringham again in the not too distant future. Best wishes Mark

“Good location, close to shops and the beach forget the car”

Reviewed 8 Jan 2017

The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed, plenty of room, did not live on top of each other. The beach is down the road, the shops in the next road did not need to use the car. We have never rented a house before but now the family is growing the house was ideal to cater for all of us and we would highly recommend renting houses and this location was excellent, would love to go again.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your recent stay at Lavender House and for taking the time to write such a lovely review of your time in Sheringham. I was so pleased to read that you enjoyed the space that the house offers and found the house to be clean and comfortable. I do hope that we can welcome you back again in the not too distant future. Best wishes Mark
