This welcoming cottage in Gilling West sleeps two people in one bedroom.The Stable is a semi-detached conversion in Gilling West. The cottage has a cosy sitting room with dining table and a quality well-equipped kitchen, while upstairs are a king-size double bedroom and an en-suite. Outside is ample off road parking and a garden area. The Stable is a mile from the village pub, and Gilling West offers walks from the door, as well as being a great base for exploring Richmond, York or the coast. A couple of miles away, Richmond offers a fascinating Norman castle, a weekly market, old curiosity shops set along narrow alleyways and the picturesque River Swale.

Richmond itself contains a magnificent Georgian Theatre and an imposing, ruined medieval castle that overlooks the River Swale. The area is full of footpaths and bridleways, criss-crossing the picturesque landscape in every direction and excellent fishing facilities are available nearby. This wonderful town makes an idea base for exploring all of Swaledale and Teesdale, regardless of the time of year.
