The Lantern is a stunning, detached residence in the popular Peasholm area of Scarborough – just a short walk through the famous park to the North Bay beach. Brand new to the market from the owners of the 5 star rated Belfry and Steeple also in Scarborough.

This beautiful Victorian property features three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a stylish open plan oak kitchen/diner with French doors leading out to a private courtyard.

Appointed to the highest standards with solid oak furniture, plush Chesterfield beds, LED spotlights and luxury bathrooms, it’s a five-star home away from home.

The Lantern accommodates up to eight people and is ideal for couples and families – as a fold-out single bed, portable cot and high chair are provided

Peasholm & The North Bay

The Lantern is situated on Moorland Rd in the ever-popular Peasholm area of Scarborough – among the cafes, restaurants and bars that line the famous park. It is perfectly located for the top attractions, with Peasholm Park and the Open Air Theatre just moments away and the North Bay beach no more than a five-minute stroll.

The brand new Alpamare waterpark, Sea Life Sanctuary, cricket ground and town centre are all within easy walking distance.

Scarborough area

Scarborough has all the attractions of a holiday to remember. We had a fantastic stay home from home everything you need for your stay, house is very central, hosts were fantastic nothing too much trouble, would definitely recommend, can't wait to go back.

“Amazing place to stay”

We have recently returned from a fabulous short break at the Lantern and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. We have stayed in many rentals over the last 10-15 years, both in the UK and abroad, and this is one of only a very few properties we would return to without question. The house was exactly as described with top quality fittings, furnishing, bedding, towels etc. We stayed with our daughter, son-in-law and two young grandchildren and The Lantern had everything we needed even down to tea, coffeee, toileteries etc for our stay. Paula was very quick to respond to our booking request, text to say we could arrive earlier than the 3.00 pm check in as the house was already prepared and, on the final day, allowed us to stay another couple of hours as the weather was so beautiful. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this property. Thank you Paula.

We had a great long weekend in this lovely house. It's a large family house beautifully furnished and decorated, well equipped with everything you could possible need. The patio and parking space were an added bonus. Paula was very helpful and the whole booking process and any queries were dealt with in a friendly efficient manner. We will happily book again next time we visit Scarborough.

Why can't I call Paula/Mark (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Paula/Mark (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
