Location description from owner

The Yorkshire region

Saltburn-by-the-Sea

Saltburn by the Sea has maintained much of its original charm as a Victorian seaside resort, including its pier, the colourful Italian Gardens and walks through Riftswood.Saltburn has the oldest water balanced cliff tramway in Britain that is still in operation, linking the town with the pier 120 feet below. You can park at sea level, where the old fishing village straddles Skelton Beck. The Ship Inn remains as a focal point, steeped in smuggling folklore. The Cleveland Way passes through Saltburn, on its way along the coastline, and follows a steep path up to Huntcliff, once the site of a Roman Signal Station.

“A home from home”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2016

We used Jasmine Cottage for 6 weeks during our last trip back to the UK and were more than pleased with it . A very well appointed , very clean cottage . The owners ( Ian & Vanessa ) were extremely helpful and certainly went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible . Jasmine cottage is located in a very quiet cul-de-sac with private parking just 30 metres from the front door .An excellent base for our various trips as regular bus & train service and shopping is a 2 minute walk away and access to the woods and beach is close by . We would certainly use it again for another stay in the NorthEast .
