The Escape is the perfect place to relax and unwind, offering modern, fully equipped accommodation with a cosy familiar feel.
At The Escape you can relax in front of the Log burner, cook a meal in a fully fitted kitchen or enjoy the hospitality of The Cock Inn 100m away. The Cock, a 16th century coaching inn, has an atmospheric bar, inglenook fireplace and lots of history. The menu is extensive and good value for money.
The Escape is surrounded by fields, with a footpath to picturesque Barcombe Mills passing the gate. Walkers are within a short drive of the South Downs National Park, the South Downs Way and the Ashdown Forest, making this a wonderful base for walking breaks.
Glyndebourne is 2.5km away, so a visit to the Opera could be combined with the historic town of Lewes, offering a Norman Castle, Priory and Anne of Cleves House.
With Brighton only 1/2 hours drive away, The Escape is an ideal place to explore this cosmopolitan town, whether for its Regency history or vibrant night life

Dogs are welcome by arrangement. They must be at least a year old and not left unattended in the Escape. We ask that they are kept on the lead in the garden, as Cara our dog is quite frightened by some larger dogs. There is a gate in the garden opening directly onto fields, where you can exercise your dog.

How do damage deposits work?

If Joy (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
