The Snowdonia National Park is on your doorstep offering a magnificent experience for walking, climbing or just enjoying the stunning scenery. It offers numerous cycling and mountain bike trails. Boasting the highest mountain in Wales, if you don't fancy the walk, the Snowdon Mountain Railway can carry you up to the breathtaking summit. Porthmadog is a 15 minute walk from Awleon. This beautiful harbour town offers an array of shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and tearooms. Both the Ffestiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland Railway can be boarded here. Visit the Maritime Museum and the Motor Museum. Enjoy a round of golf at Porthmadog Links Golf Club or turn your hand to sailing with the Porthmadog Sailing Club.Portmeirion is an Italian fairytale village with colourful cottages, shops and cafes standing on a cliff top overlooking Cardigan Bay. It is surrounded by acres of woodlands and miles of beautiful sandy beaches. It is famous for it's pottery and is also the location where "The Prisoner" was filmed. Borth-y-Gest is a pretty Victorian village with colourful houses lining the promenade, just 5 minutes outside of Porthmadog. Walk from the village along the well maintained coastal path leading to several beautiful beaches and coves. Further along and you stumble across Black Rock Sands with its long stretch of sandy beach which if you adhere to the 10 mph speed limit you can even drive your car on!Castles; Criccieth and Harlech both cliff top medieval castles are worth a visit. Also further afield is Caernarfon Castle. Beddgelert walk through Aberglaslyn Pass, visit Gelert's Grave and Sygun Copper Mine. Abersoch, Barmouth, Betws-y-Coed, Bala and Anglesey are all within driving distance and offer a wide selection of varied activities from surfing, sailing, Tree Top Adventures, Slate Mines or just relaxing on one of the many spectacular beaches.

“A lovely house”

We had a lovely stay having the bathroom and two on-suites allowed us to all get ready in the morning in a short space of time. The house is spacious, well equipped and suitable for all ages. We all felt very much at home and a great base for exploring North Wales The Cove, McLoughlin and Whiteman families

We stayed at Awelon for a few nights towards the end of June and had a wonderful time - we could not fault it in any way. Booking was really easy and all enquiries were dealt with promptly by Diana. When we arrived we were all absolutely bowled over by the accommodation - very clean and spacious and really well equipped for a holiday home - it had everything we needed. It was also the perfect location for us, being set right in the square at Tremadog. We could just pop across the road to the convenience store, and also to the local chippy which we used on more than one occasion! Tremadog is a great place to explore from and we spent lovely days at Llanberis (the museum hospital is well worth a visit) and Portmeirion. It was really nice after our long days out to return to Awelon and relax in the comfy lounge. One evening we were feeling slightly more energetic so went for a gentle stroll around the little wood which is located just up the road. Even now, a few weeks later, we all still talk about what a great place it was and what a fantastic time we had. We would definitely recommend, and hope to return in the not too distant future.

“Lovely property in great location”

The property was an ideal size for our family with 8 persons in total. There are 5 bedrooms and two en-suites. The downstairs is a good size with a large lounge area and big kitchen and dining room plus utility and an outside garden available for BBQ's if it's not raining. The property was clean and well presented and in an ideal location at the south west side of Snowdonia with easy road access to various tourist spots. There two rooms on the second floor which are en-suites but would be difficult for the elderly or infirm to access and use but there are 3 good rooms on the first floor. The house is in the village square with two pubs, a restaurant and a chippy on the doorstep which is ideal. There are no parking restrictions and spaces were always available within the square. Overall a lovely property and good value.

“Lovely large house in a great location”

The house was in a good position in the village of Tremdog. it was convenient for lots of tourist attractions like the Zip Wire, Snowdon and Portmerion. There were five bedrooms, two en-suite, a family bathroom and an extra toilet. It was kitted out to quite a high standard we felt for a holiday let. We were all delighted with the house and the small enclosed courtyard garden. The only thing that we found difficult was cooking breakfast for the 9 of us - no large frying pan! All in all we had a wonderful stay.
