“Perfect place for relaxing retreat”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2016

We had a lovely stay at funchal. It really is a hidden gem, comfortable, clean, roomy. When the sun is out it is perfect for a bbq or alfresco dining, when the sun sets it's a great place for some star gazing. It's set amongst some beautiful scenery, gorgeous beaches and cliffs are a short stroll away. Booking was truly stress free and Liz is a very lovely lady. Highly recommend.

“Hidden Gem!”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2015

We were looking for somewhere to completely “get away from it all” and we certainly found it in this magical place Funchal. It is a hidden gem tucked away at the end of a lane in the heart of the Gower. The accommodation is compact, clean and comfortable, there is a log burner for those chilly nights even beach towels and a lovely Welcome Box with welsh cakes on arrival. It had everything that we needed There is plenty of outside space for children to play safely and there is a balcony at the rear of the property which we used most days to eat out on and enjoy the view, whilst to the front a veranda with even more seating, we found this very useful when coming back from our walks. Liz and Chris were very helpful throughout the booking process and we found the cottage easily. Being able to park the car directly outside the gate was a real bonus when offloading the bags, in fact this is where it stayed for most of the time we were at Funchal as the waking is excellent and the coastline and beaches are superb. You can easily reach what has got to be one the most beautiful views of a beach by walking along from the cottage and out past the castle to Three Cliffs Bay. We would definitely return here as there is so much to do and see and if the weather is good it really is a welsh paradise.

“Best in Sandy Lane”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2015

Chalet and Annex excellent, clean, warm, comfy and very well equipped. Owners were brilliant, helpfull, knowledgable and friendly. Location was the best of four holiday homes we've used in Sandy Lane. Talking about booking again soon. Thank you from Sue & girls

“Fabulous Location”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2014

We couldn't have found a better location for our holiday in the Gower. The property was private and close to all the beaches. Really spacious rooms and cosy at night with the log burner going. Nice gardens for the children to run around in and the area was safe for the children to explore. Sat out on the verandah most nights and relaxed with a glass of wine. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Beds were really comfortable. The owners are really friendly and were very helpful in arranging our holiday. If this chalet was for sale i'd buy it and move in tomorrow.
