From the owner

Ardenia is situated on the edge of the delightful village of Appleton Wiske. There is a pub 100m away, which serves food on weekends, a village shop and playing fields all within easy walking distance. The village is only 5 miles from the A19, which leads easily onto the A1. It is an ideal base to explore The North Yorks Moors, which are a short drive away. The historical cities of York and Durham can be reached in under an hour. Travel a bit further and you can explore the beautiful villages and countryside in the Dales. The charming seaside locations of Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay and Runswick Bay are all within easy reach. The property is annexed to the main bungalow, occupied by the owners. There is a large bedroom with a 6 foot bed and en suite shower room. The bed will also make into 2 singles, please specify your preference on booking. There is also a 2'6" fold up bed, suitable for a child or small adult to accomodate a 3rd guest [please note the shower room is only accessible from the main bedroom]. We have a travel cot [please bring bedding], baby bath and high chair for people travelling with a baby. The shower room has a toilet, washbasin and easy access shower. The lounge leads into a dining area and then a fully fitted kitchen, with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, oven and grill. A conservatory leads out onto a large rear, fully fenced patio area with table and chairs and a barbeque. A small patio at the front of the property allows you to take advantage of the sun whatever the time of day. There is an off road parking space for one car, but a 2nd car could be accommodated if required. There is strictly no smoking in the house, ashtrays are supplied outside on the patio areas. For people with limited mobility, the accommodation is on one level, however there are 2 steps into the house at the front and back.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Wendy and David (the owner) a message.

If Wendy and David (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
