“Great location”

Reviewed 31 May 2017

A nice stay in a great location, with many forest walks on the doorstep. Cosy with everything you need. Far from traffic and beautiful view of the sea.

“Wow!!!! What a wonderful place to stay.”

Reviewed 18 May 2017

We were greeted by the owner who explained everything clearly. The property was situated close to the town of Newcastle and easy to locate. We had access to Tollymore Forest park through a gate beside the property which was fantastic as we had 2 lively dogs with us and they love long walks. The grounds were enclosed and secure for the animals and children. The accommodation was spotless and had everything we needed including a welcome pack with a fresh crusty loaf, butter, jam, milk, tea, coffee and orange juice. Heating and lighting were included as was the use of a washing machine and hoover. A massive thank you to both Patricia and Julian. We will be visiting again.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for a break. We had a fantastic time staying here, the place was beautiful everything you need was there. My wife and I took our dog with us and went for walks so peaceful. The only problem was WE DIDNT STAY LONG ENOUGH. We will definitely be booking again and longer next time. The owners made sure we felt very welcomed and had bought us bread butter milk and orange juice etc which we didn't expect but was much appreciated thank you for that. Thank you again from Robert and Joanne Clint

“Lovely oasis perched in the mountains overlooking the sea”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2016

The views are really lovely from the sitting room window, overlooking the bay. Immediately behind us, the Mourne Mountains and Tollymore Forest Park which provided great places for the dogs and me to explore. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, one of the best we have ever been to. My husband is a retired chef/restaurateur and he was delighted! Tricia and Julian were at hand if needed and not intrusive and gave the occasional great suggestion for a walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

“Fairytale”

Reviewed 4 May 2015

It was a beautiful place and so perfectly located. The house is looking down onto the Irish sea, with wide sandy beaches. We saw seals playing at low tide. The mountains South, are sheltering it from the wind and up the hill on the North side, a fairytale forest begins. Several hiking trails start here, giving you access to the more famous tracks further down along fast flowing streams, (where you can, if you dare, jump the bolders) with great views over the sea, and even some historic assets. It is not too far away from the main town (more affluent than I had expected - and lots of icecream), a nice walk as well, through green space. The apartment itself, was perfect. Spitspot clean. And everything you could need ! was there. Lovely people as well. Very kind and helpful. We felt most welcome, and had a fantastic time. We will certainly come back :-)

“A perfect break in the most idyllic of locations.”

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at this property. You could not hope to find a more breathtakingly beautiful location. Spectacular views of the bay, forest and mourne mountains. The property contained all we could have wished for and our host could not have been more helpful. We enjoyed beautiful food in some of Newcastle and neighbouring Dundrum's fantastic restaurants as well as making use of the property's barbecue on a number of nights, given the stunning view from the patio. The property is in first class condition. My partner and I are very much looking forward to returning.
