“AN enjoyable stay”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2016

Travelled to Barmouth with hubby and grandson Aug 20th - 27th 2016.The cottage is very central, close to the beach and pubs and restaraunts. It is in a quiet area so sleep wasnt disturbed. The cottage was clean and had everything that we needed, including a fully fitted kitchen and a utility room with washing machine. On the first floor is a double bedroom and the bathroom with shower/bath.The hot water is constant and bath towels and hand towels are provided. On the next floor,it is reached via paddle stairs and has two single beds. There is plenty of storage room in both bedrooms and lots of hangers, and a hairdryer. THe lounge area is down in the basement.WE didnt spend a lot of time down there even though it is cosy, with an electric log burner, because it felt damp. There is no wifi in the cottage but most of the surrounding pubs have free wifi. Overall,we had an enjoyable stay and would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a beach/walking holiday. There are lots of places nearby to visit, but also has a clean, fantastic beach and a castle just up the road in Harlech.

the basement does not have a damp problem as such Just ventilation issues maybe -- we therefore will be keeping on site a dehumidifier in the area which will eradicate excess moisture in the air which isn't escaping naturally -- it is probably more noticeable after very wet weather -

“A fabulous break”

Reviewed 26 Apr 2014

This was our first visit to Barmouth and we are smitten. A traditional seaside town with the must-have, sea front fish and chip shop! We stayed here for a long weekend in July at Arden House and loved every minute of it. The cottage was ideally located close to all amenities, with a well equipped kitchen and a lovely, homely lounge, the ideal place to relax after a busy day. Our daughter loved the top floor bedroom with its paddle staircase. Overall a clean, warm and welcoming holiday cottage with all the comforts of home. We look forward to visiting again soon.

I hope this will be your first of many visits to Barmouth in the future and we are glad you had an enjoyable stay.

“Comfortable and cosy, close to all amenities, perfect for non-drivers.”

With shops and restaurants, trains and buses, harbour and seashore all within a few minutes' walk, Arden House was hard to beat. Warm and cosy and surprisingly quiet inside, we found everything provided with thought and care, including a most generous welcome pack (plus dog chews!). Yes, being able to bring my dog with us was definitely a bonus, as was the little courtyard where we could enjoy a nightcap under the stars.

We do stress that a car is not required to get here due to the railway network that connects to this part and other parts of Wales extremely efficiently and frequently from all over England.

“Lovely retreat!”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2014

Lovey warm , cosy and modern accommodation , near to all amenities and beach. Everything you could wish for, for a 'home from home' stay at the seaside. Everything was thought about to make a very pleasant stay. Excellent instructions for use of gas and electric etc and info for the local area. Nice touch was a lovely welcome pack, which was much appreciated and thanks for the instructions about parking up the road near the church as finding a parking space in the town can be a bit of a challenge! Lovely walks locally for the adventurous or lots of local cafés to enjoy the breath taking views from the beach. Will definitely be going back, as need more time to explore.

We are constantly making improvements to the cottage having purchased it just over 12 months a go we have made many significant changes to it which we feel will bring positive comments like this. Very glad you enjoyed your stay, look forward to you returning.

“COSY LITTLE COTTAGE”

Reviewed 31 Mar 2014

Lovely, quaint little cottage in central Barmouth. Doggies welcome and ideally located. Spotlessly clean, and it has everything you need and more! Lovely shops and pubs within walking distance. A real 'home from home'. Would definitely recommend this superb house which has it all :)

We do welcome guests with small dogs since there is an outside secure space ( courtyard) for them to go. With all the many walks on our doorstep makes it perfect for dog owners and non dog owners alike.
