Perched high in the Royal Forest of Dean with breath-taking views across the Wye Valley & Brecon Beacons, an intimate and delightful Cottage.

Most rooms open to a huge decking with integrated Hot Tub & Sauna with amazing views. For an extra touch of luxury, we can also arrange for guests to enjoy a Swedish Massage, Reflexology or other Spa Treatments provided by visiting Therapists.

Perfect as a base for up to 6 guests and their dogs, for a multitude of adventures and exploring - we have plenty of ideas if you need them. It's also ideal for couples or friends looking for a romantic or relaxing hideaway.

The Cottage was originally built for a local miner in the 1850's, and still retains much of it's original charm e.g. thick walls, low ceilings and narrow entrances; but it has also been refurbished to modern standards, over 5 levels of delightful and intimate living.

The lounge has a log fire (logs are supplied as part of the welcome pack), surround sound system and there is access to free wifi, Bluetooth sound system, DVD player and library of movies.

All bedrooms are decorated to a high standard, with good quality beds; Room 1 has a king size bed and a lovely en-suite; Room 2 has a double beds and Room 3 has 'adult size' bunk beds. There's also access to an 'Air Bed'.

The family bathroom has also been completely refurbished, with an excellent 'power shower', and there's a cloakroom/toilet on the ground floor.

The traditional kitchen is well equipped and there's a shabby chic dining room which easily sits six people.

All bedrooms, living rooms, dining room and kitchen have splendid views of The Wye Valley.

The Cottage and garden are only overlooked by the birds so you can feel comfortable to relax and kick back in your own private hideaway.

At night, the garden comes to life with fairy tale illuminations; and there is a chiminea to cozy up to.

Comfortable, quality furnishings & décor are provided throughout, all reflecting the rustic nature of The Cottage and surrounding area.

We respond very quickly to all enquiries and welcome questions about our cottage or the surrounding area. Once guests book with us, we keep guests updated and help in any way we can with questions they may have e.g. about places to visit, eateries and pubs. We aren't usually available when guests arrive, though we can be on request, but we always provide detailed information including clear directions and to help guests prepare for their stay. Whilst staying at our cottage, we are available as necessary but we tend to leave guests to relax and enjoy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Phill (the owner) a message.

If Phill (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
